Dream Park: Soon to be Fort Worth's Premier All-Accessible Playground.
Why Fort Worth Needs Dream Park:
According to the Fort Worth ISD, 7.9% of children currently enrolled have intellectual or developmental disabilities, nearly 6400 students, yet there are very limited areas in our community for these children to play as most playgrounds are not equipped to accommodate their special needs.
These children are missing out on the fundamental benefits of play and improvement in social, mental and physical development. We feel all children should have a safe place to play, regardless of their abilities.
OUR MISSION:
To build a universally inclusive playground where children of all abilities can interact and play together side-by-side.
THE VISION:
A 15,000-20,000 square foot playground, in the heart of Fort Worth. Dream Park will be the first of its kind in our community and will not only meet, but exceed ADA accessibility guidelines.
Some of the unique features include:
• Pour-in-place rubber flooring
• A safety fence enclosing the playground with a single entrance
• Double wide ramping
• Elevated and ground level play areas
• Sensory play boards/centers
• Shade structures/canopies
• Picnic areas
To build a universally inclusive playground where children of all abilities can interact and play side by side.
