Very horrible place to work, very hostile environment. Nurses are rude, disrespectful and they will harass you. I was harassed down the hall by an LVN who assumed I spoke to him after I told him I was not speaking to him. He approached me so rudely and processed to yell and fight with me. The charge nurse accused me of negligence and told me I gave the patient a rash…. The DSD MARIA is very rude and does not care that her staff that’s in a higher position is rude or disrespectful. I will not come back here to work. The administrator is also rude and seems to not care how his staff treats visitors either. I approached him about a concern and he kept reflecting the issue onto me having a “bad” attitude when I come to work I make sure to have a positive attitude because it reflects the patients feelings and I always want them to be happy. He then proceeded to say he would be back to take my complaint after a meeting he had to attend & he was not telling the truth about that either. Seems to me as if he doesn’t care either. Very horrible facility.
Stayed only a day.a large rat ran across my bed and cockaroaches running around the floor. Staff didn't give me pain meds even though I just had major back surgery. The next day I had my friendcome take me home.I can't believe that this place has a license
Avoid this place. Everyone at this facility does not care. Staff are lazy, dismissive, and negligent. My father has experienced cold, rashes, hunger, etc… oh and even contracted the shingles! Then they had the audacity to say they are unsure where he got the shingles from since he came from the hospital. Mind you he has been there for over a week and they change my father into clothes that is not even his! Driftwood does not take accountability and simply does not care about their patients.
My mother was there for 23 days. In that time she developed pneumonia because of their lack of communication by their staff. She was left sitting on the edge of her bed for 3 hrs waiting to be changed after sitting in a soaked sweaty gown. A week later she was almost given someone else's medication. Thank God my mom was with it because they were going to give her blood pressure medication which she doesn't take and Levaquin which she is highly allergic to. Mind you the nurse never came back after my mom informed her of those two medications. Fast forward to a few days later when we were to be having my mom transported home via ambulance. My mom waited all day for someone to come get her. We then had to call and talk to the head nurse which said they didn't have any paperwork for her release. By the time we got there to speak to someone her medication was already bagged up for her and the nurse had the paperwork. However they told us go ahead and take her home. Ummm she has 54 staples in her back we can't transport her home, we were told you were getting her transport home. Oh I have no idea about that. Come on how can you not know anything when the patients paperwork is right in front of your face. There were only two positives that came out of our experience with her there. She ended up with a wonderful roommate who I know will be friends with forever now and her therapist Jordan was a blessing to my mom. Everything else about that place was HORRIBLE!
Even though the staff was pretty noisy especially at night when I was trying to get some sleep, they treated me nicely for the 4 days that I was there. The food was fair, but the lunches were good. A physical therapist visited me, and a doctor who was on call also came to visit with me and gave me a good amount of her time. They gave me medication and handled my discharge paperwork well. I was there for a severe back pain issue. Based on my overall experience, I am giving it 4 stars.
If your not paying cash but own a house, you are in danger. If suddenly your loved one develops renal failure, check for digoxin overdose as the cause. Check emergency room records and daily care records. Research all medications. They know how to work the system to get paid by the state. Don't trust on line attorneys offering pro bono. They get paid by the medical community to inform them when someone is seeking counsel. I have proof.
Wish I could give a negative star. This place is not a great place at all. I was already skeptical about the facility being that I have worked in them before and have left the field due to the treatment I have seen nurses and CNA's do to the residents. Some of the nurses and CNA's are good but, to an extent they need to have their hand held constantly to be sure they are giving the meds on time and doing their job. They are not very organized either especially when it comes to transporting residents. We had two incidents where they were supposed to pick up my relative and take to their appointment and another incidents where transport just never showed up to take them back to the facility. When I called about it they were not very helpful and quite rude. I have constantly seen, especially their male CNA's, just sitting around doing nothing when call lights are on. I have seen and heard CNA's and nurses countlessly talking to residents in a rude and disrespectful manner. There is also a huge language barrier with majority of staff and needs to be some type of language training. Would not recommend at all. You will be better off doing home-care with someone you can actually interview and trust or just have family members care for your loved ones.
I spent a 8 days in Driftwood Healthcare Center and it was the best experience I ever had in a Rehab Center. I was under NURSE STATION #3 and they were the best group of NURSES that I ever had and TECHS IN REHAB. They were so courteous and came quickly answering any problems. I had an enjoyable experience in there with them. THANKS to all off you for the professionalism and love that you gave to me. If I have to go to Rehab again, I would choose them. Everyone was a true blessing for me. Thanks for caring. Not just for me but also for my roommates that I had. I am sending you . Keep up the great work. MAY GOD BLESS YOU ALL AND PEACE BE WITH YOU. I hope to visit you all soon.
We where definitely apprehensive before putting our dad in a nursing home. We where referred to driftwood healthcare by a friend who lives nearby. WELL THANK GOODNESS she did. while it was difficult to bring him there. the staff led by the director of nursing Kathleen made the transition really comfortable and most important they have followed through. Its never easy but I must say We really secure about the care he is getting and the facility is really well kept. They are always available and helpful THANK YOU DRIFTWOOD HEALTH AND WELLNESS
Find somewhere else if you can. This place is so unorganized and their billing system is terrible. They have no clue as to who they are suppose to bill whether if it's through Medicare or through your private insurance. My mother was admitted to this facility and they had absolutely no idea whether they were suppose to bill Medicare or to Blue Shield. In fact, we had to show them who they were suppose to bill and how to bill to Blue Shield. You would think if you're in the medical and healthcare business you know how to bill through the correct insurance provider.
