Quaint pub, not quite the Irish pub experience though. Music was rock not traditional Irish. Service was excellent, Charlie and Scarlett took good care of us along with their wee Leprechaun helper. The cheesy bacon fries could have used more of each, but were very tasty. I got the fish and chips, although the chips was really any side and since we had fries as appetizer, I got the vegetable medley of broccoli and peppers. They said they were in garlic butter sauce, but were neither buttery nor garlicky, at least they were fresh. Cooked tender so if you like a little tooth to your veg, don't expect it. The fish was tasty, but the batter could have been a little crisper. The three pieces together were about the size of a single fish in Pittsburgh, but we do things differently there. Pimento cheese burger was met with great gusto. The crab cakes were said to be good too. Owner should consider making the bathrooms unisex as they were single user and only the ladies room has any accessibility accommodations. There was a $7ish upcharge for paying with CC. Parking: When we arrived there were only a few spots open, but when we left there was plenty. Wheelchair accessibility: Only the ladies room had accommodation. The men's room was very narrow and would not be wheelchair friendly. The owners should consider making both restrooms unisex. There were no automatic doors and the low tables were in the back room accessable only through a narrow hallway, although there was a door in that room that could be opened from the outside.
We live southwest of Raleigh proper and finally took a day trip to Pinehurst Village. We casually walked throughout the village which has a nice assortment of delightful stores. Passing Dugan's Pub at lunchtime on Wednesday, we stopped in for a meal. I had a bit of an appetite so I ordered the bangers and mash. Loved the way the mash was served and the bangers had great flavor. For me, gravy on the side is preferred so I can dip to my choice. Service was timed just right for a quiet lunch. Happy we made the decision to stop in.
Great quaint Irish pub with large downstairs. Guinness on draft was superb. Plus they also had smithwicks. Bartenders are super attentive and have some tricks up their sleeves with the pours.Food: 5/5
Can I get more stars to give. Outstanding establishment. The service was fast friendly and helpful. The food was divine and the atmosphere was made to order. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening and will be returning.Food: 5/5
Food is decent, staff is quirky, atmosphere is fantastic. Worth a visit - and I wish I could do half stars because it’s not a 5 star but better than a 4 star. Go here instead of Drum & Quill if you want something better. I look for that “quality” that’s hard to put down on paper and this is better - I’ve already been twice I don’t repeat places unless they are worth it
The Second Irish Pub in the Village of PineHurst - charming and cozy , friendly staff and yummy Pub Food. Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly , made chicken tenders and fries for my son.
I previously ate at Dugan’s once and was not impressed. With the changeover and new menu, I decided to give it another try. We ordered the garlic cheese curds, the cranberry pecan salad with blackened chicken, and the Reuben burger. All were great! Our server had a very in depth and loud conversation about politics and other controversial topics with the table next to us, and I honestly could have done without that, but we will still be back.
Great Irish pub atmosphere. Super fun staff. Great service. Food was made fresh, which was very tasty. If you're looking to feel as if you're in Dublin this is not the place. Everything is kinda Irishy-American. With mild visits to Irish beers and food. If you're looking for a super cozy place to have good drinks and great food. Then make your way here. You won't be disappointed.
The new owner has developed a new menu with all of the previous items. I feel that he has provided the customers with a positive variety of item to select from. Today we tried the new Reuben Burger with Swiss & Sauerkraut. It is an outstanding addition to the menu. Customer service is always good here and Dugan's is always very clean.
The basement is definitely my favorite part it's like an old speakeasy vibe. The wait staff was great! Especially the bartender in the basement she was so friendly my friend who went on the trip with me still talks about her! Will go back again someday!Food: 5/5
