SJPL’s mission is to foster lifelong learning and ensure that every member of the community has access to a vast array of ideas and information. Since the first five years of a child’s life are the most critical in terms of learning and development, the Library is committed to prioritizing early education services to ensure the community has access to the resources it needs to help young children from birth to five in San José become lifelong learners.
The San José Public Library’s Early Education Services unit provides dedicated resources to young children (birth to kindergarten), parents, caregivers, and early educators in order to close opportunity gaps and ensure all children receive a strong start in learning and preparation for successful school experiences.
