The sushi and ramen are so good! Love the tradition Japanese seating. I’ve seen reviews complaining about wait time but we went on a Friday night and the place was completely full and we had no issues
Has authentic Japanese seating booths and authentic Japanese food. The owner really brings a refreshing cultural restaurant to what is Knoxville. Will be visiting often.Food: 5/5
It was my first time trying Chicken Katsu w Curry, so I can't speak to the authenticity. As it was, it tasted great and everything was well cooked. I'll 100% be back for dinner.Food: 5/5
We decided to try this place, although we did not have very high expectations that it would be authentic Japanese food. However, when the majority of patrons are Japanese it was lunch time and the gentleman taking your order is Japanese, your expectation level increases even before the food comes... We had tonkotsu ramen, pork yakisoba, gyudon, pork katsu curry, gyoza and karaage appetisers. All were fantastic and reminded me of back home. After we finished eating, we all decided that we should move closer to Knoxville so we can have this food more often!
I ordered the Yakisoba $12 and it was delicious! I also ordered an appetizer which included a soup, salad and rice bowl $4.50. The soup was unlike any I have ever had. It had tofu and seaweed in it, and I was suprised that I liked it. It was very good. The salad was good as well. The rice was perfectly cooked! The atmosphere was good as well. The prices aren't cheap or expensive, just priced fairly. The only negative is that the restrooms are in need of updates and a good cleaning.
Decent venue however the service was awful. My friend and I showed up soon as they opened got seated and waited 20 minutes before being given a menu and drinks, and we tried to order the same thing. 1 of the 2 waiters we ended up having came back and said they only had 1 roll left? How do you only have one roll left if you just opened and they “should” be freshly made. Whatever. It turned out a blessing in disguise as my friend got the roll and it was not appetizing. It took 30 minutes for the food to arrive and they weren’t even busy. He ate some of it and started feeling sick. We never got water refills and a different waiter came to check on us after 30 minutes! and give us our checks even though our original guy was still there. We won’t be back.
Absolutely delicious meal! Everything is very fairly priced and the staff is super nice. It has a very cozy, chill vibe and the menu is expansive and has plenty of variety. We will definitely be going back. Parking: Huge parking lot with a plethora of parking.
My husband and I love this place and come every other month. The owner is japanese and the food is like the one we got when we visited Japan. The eel is especially delicious, much better than the Americanized sushi you get in other places in Knoxville. The people complaining about the service are just expecting an American server style, which won't happen and I much more prefer it this way. My tea cup is still always refilled and he is always nice, not just overbearing or pushing. We love it and hope it thrives forever.
Absolute best sushi and Japanese cuisine I’ve had in Knoxville! Finally a place that has the quality of ingredients that we would expect from a local spot. The sushi chef and owner was courteous and friendly. Expect to wait for a table if you’re there after their first seating. Expect to wait for sushi if they’re busy. They need more waitstaff, but they do the best with what they have. Plan to go right when they open or wait until it’s 8. I’m sorry. I can no longer recommend.
This has always been my favorite Japanese restaurant, but the service was 9/10 times extremely slow. I’m happy to report though that 5 years later, the service has substantially improved! Food is awesome as always.Food: 5/5
