Most of the staff are a bit rude, one lady even expressed how she hates her job as she was jabbing my wife with a needle. You never get a call back if you leave a message, and when you finally get through they are quite rude on the phone. Anytime I go for care 100% p&t I feel like i am waisting their time. Don't even attempt to make a dental appointment, you'll never get in. We are full time travelers and they can't help with a TVC traveling veteran coordinator and claim they don't know what it is. We've had to call patient advocate to light a fire under their butts to actually get help with medication my wife has to have every day. We have now changed to a different area for our care and will never recommend East Orange to any Vet.
Just got off the phone with the dental receptionist, and it was the worst experience ive had at a VA facility. 0 help, 0 care, 0 knowledge… his answer was “google it” then he hung up on me. Thats how these workers treat the veterans they are supposed to care for, absolutely disgraceful. Going to be doing my best to never have to come to this location.
There’s no parking. If you are handicapped and there’s no spots by the entrance you have a long uphill walk. It’s not right. Put a couple of Jitneys to help people parking in the outside lots. Seems like an awful lot of cars in the lots? Maybe they should consider building a tiered parking lot just for handicapped Veterans.
Nice nurses doctors and workers but its federally funded healthto treat the illnesses and life ruining ailments for the vietnam veterans that were all caused by the same federal government now treating and caring for them and their illnesses that they purposely gave them. My dad goes here and i hate that he has no other choice. .. what a way to thank a man for serving his country. Makes me question our own governments agenda everytime i walk in this place.
A place where those who need help come to get it. Not just in the way of medical attention, but in the comfort of the caring professionals dedicated to give service to those who've served. A place where brothers and sisters under the flag share stories of the heroism that their fallen brothers imparted at the end of their journey. The journey of life that these men and women of courage continue... with dignity in East Orange, New Jersey. Here, they get the attention that they have earned through uncommon courage, which will hopefully ensure their journey lasts a while longer. Maybe then they can share what they've learned with us all...how to live a life with honor. Woman who works front information help desk never seems too enthused with helping me, however... Probably long overdue for a vacation. Cafeteria could use a revamping.
I really appreciate the people in the ER here. They make you feel cared for and hopeful everything will be okay. It’s a lost art of caring for disabled veterans and I’m grateful this VA still cares. Thank you for the help. Thank you
I can't speak for the entire building but the Pain Management department has always been a life savior for me LITERALLY. Friendly, knowledgeable, and my personal favorite quick moving staff.
Dr.Gamal Hanna was extremely unprofessional and rude, he began raising his voice and walked out on my partner multiple in the ER. He refused to provide any medical care stating there was nothing he could do in the ER while also claiming there was nobody available in radiology, refused to provide documentation and began yelling when documentation was requested. Verbatim he said “I’m not giving you anything. Im done with you.” The assisting nurse Felicity Amponsah, raised her voice when my partner requested the doctor saying there’s nothing she can do because she’s “just a nurse.” None of the nurses or other physicians present stepped in to mediate or act as a patient advocate which is a large part of their job.
Very kind and caring people here they VA Police even helped me find a place to park my truck and trailer because I needed To see a doctor while on the road.
Great facility and very friendly staff. I felt like they truly had my best interest in mind.
