Good location to fish, bike, relax. During high tide the water covers the side walks by the water and into the grass so it can be dangerous but if you don't mind getting your feet wet there are some good size catfish there.
Such a beautiful park we used to come here all the time before we moved to different state but today we visited again during our trip! Playground: Two kinds of playground one for big kids and the other one for small kids Picnic area: There’s a lot of picnic area with a grill
Potomac Island is one of the great hidden gems of DC. Most people dont know how to get to it so it remains hidden. With a nice 3 mile one way road loop, you can drive along enjoying the water at eye level all the way around the island. There's frequent overflights of government helicopters of the east side and national airport on the west side. Check it out! Playground: Playground at the southern tip of the Isla d Restrooms: Restrooms are spaced about every mile on the west side of the island. Dog-friendliness: Dogs allowed everywhere on a leash. Picnic area: Picnic Tables everywhere on the island
Let's see more people enjoying the park for walking & fishing . Playground: Lovely outdoor facility for skating & boarding .
Love this place. As a beginner it's very comfortable and easy to play. Staff of super friendly!
Beautiful park for kids. Clean and safe for families. It's peaceful and easy to navigate. River water definitely helps with relaxation. Traffic is stressful to DC sometimes, but it's worth visiting this park. I also see a good number of people fishing here. Playground: Children have always great time in playground. Restrooms: There are multiple restrooms in this park Picnic area: Great place for families to have a good time here.
Beautiful. Cherry blossoms are over right now, not very well kept, dirty and paths in poor condition. Lots of trash around too. Not easy to push a wheelchair around on them either
The weeping cherry trees are in bloom and a few other cherry trees! We saw about 10 weeping cherry trees on our drive around the park yesterday. Looks like most of the cherry trees need more time for full bloom.
The new configuration is great! Miles ahead of what was here previously. The evidence is that I've seen more people walking and biking here on a Saturday morning than I've ever seen here before. Kudos to the traffic engineers. The only observation I have is that I've already seen 3 people driving cars drive on the walk/bike path which is very dangerous and defeats the point of the new configuration. With a little enforcement this place could be perfect.
The best use of green waterfront space for the betterment of everyone. Tranquil parks and sanctuaries like this one can help heal the mind and body.
