My cousin and I recently stayed in Georgetown to attend a concert at the Capital One arena. We passed by El Centro and noticed the beautiful floral wall and decided to check out the menu. We LOVED everything about this restaurant. Walking in, the decor was beautiful. Our waitress was so sweet and was patient with us as we really had a hard time deciding what to get. I ended up ordering a trio of tacos, one pork belly, one shrimp, and one steak. They were SO good. The pork belly literally melted in my mouth. It also came with a side of rice and beans which were also very tasty. I'm extremely picky with my tacos and these did not disappoint. I also had a spicy margarita that was the perfect balance of tequila and mango- we went back the next night to order more! Easily my favorite place to eat in all of Georgetown. It's been a few weeks and my cousin and I are STILL talking about this place.
Food was great and the place is very nice. I got the chicken enchiladas and it was delicious. Great portions, service speed and atmosphere was great too. However, points off for extra fees. A 5% extra fee, extra tax on the fees, and tips are calculated at post-tax as well instead of pre-tax like it should be. Unfortunately, things like this trying to get extra money from customers is enough for me to not return.
My fiancée and I won a raffle for a free dinner for two at this restaurant. We were so pleased from the moment we stepped in the restaurant! We were greeted with a huge warm smile and attended by the best server Nikola. I mentioned my partner and I had recently got engaged and on top of the free dinner and drinks they provided a complimentary champagne bottle to celebrate! The food was so delicious and the drinks were made to perfection. Our server was top notch! We felt like we were VIP guest! Nikola not only did an amazing job with our table we watched him interact with other guest and his customer service is outstanding. The atmosphere is vibrant and fun and the staff is amazing. If you are looking to enjoy an amazing dinner and have a lively atmosphere with an attentive staff please come here! You wont regret it!
El centro is the location to be! Great atmosphere , good drink selection and food options . The carne asada was fire and overall the food was amazing . Vanina and her attention to our table was on point and kept checking on us. Even the hosts were informative that not only is the food good , but they have a lit night life and I followed them on IG. For sure will be a special location to my DC Visit !
I’m absolutely in love with this place and will definitely be coming as often as I can. I came here on a whim with my boyfriend. I saw the outside and insisted we go in. This place is amazing. You walk in and it’s beautiful and inviting. We were immediately greeted and seated. We opted for Bottomless Brunch because why not?. It’s only $35/person + extra for bottomless drinks. With Bottomless Brunch, they bring you small plates and it seems like it never ends in a good way. The food is amazing. There was nothing I didn’t like. My favorites were the shrimp ceviche, chipotle chicken waffle, centro dog, and the chicken flautas. Of course, I got the bottomless mimosas. The churros at the end were an absolutely perfect finish to an amazing brunch. The service was amazing. Belsy is so wonderful! My glass was never empty and there was always food on the table. I could not have had a better experience and I can’t wait to come back!!
We were a group of 10, came to dine in for happy hour. Place was empty, but staff both downstairs and upstairs didn’t want to serve us. We thought staff/place would have been more than welcoming and happy that a large group was generating revenue in such a slow day. Surprised by the unwelcoming staff and poor service.Food: 1/5
I had an incredible experience at El Centro. The service was exceptional, with the staff being attentive and friendly throughout my visit. The food was a true delight, bursting with authentic flavours. From the flavorful tacos to the perfectly crafted guacamole, every dish was a treat for my taste buds. The ambiance of the place was wonderful as well, with a cozy and vibrant atmosphere that added to the overall experience. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking delicious Mexican cuisine, top-notch service, and a fantastic dining setting. It's definitely a 5-star gem!
Had a great brunch experience. Bottomless brunch and mimosas/margaritas/bloody mary. Serving staff were friendly and accomadating. Our server Freddie was awesome and made sure we had everything we needed. Will definitely go back!Food: 5/5
El Centro is a favorite of my friends and I for dinner out in DC. Cool atmosphere and the flowery decorations outside the front entrance pop. Tasty margaritas. The chips and dip are addictive. They rank around average my price-per-bite metric portions aren't huge, but still pretty cheap as far as options in the Georgetown area go.
Was pretty good had the spicy Mango Margarita and Chesapeake Enchiladas. Also had guac and chips for appetizers. Wasn't a fan of the smoky salsa but it good!Food: 4/5
