El Cilantro Mexican Grill

If I could give 3.5 stars I would. This place is a small little restaurant in the corner of a very busy intersection in El Cajon. I got fish tacos and street tacos and at first sight they look delicious. Once I dug in the fish was over fried and the sauce was plain. I added some of their homemade salsa and gave it some life. The service was very basic; not bad and not great. The STREET tacos price is an excellent deal!!! Other than that the prices are the same as every local place. I will go here again, because it’s close to home.

Edited to add more photos since we've decided this is our new regular spot when we come all the way to town from Julian. The food was absolutely amazing and budget friendly. Unfortunately they didn't have any high chairs or booster seats so we had to hold our toddler between us to eat which wasn't awesome. That part definitely took away from the experience as well as the music blasting so loudly. We will definitely be back despite those things because the food is so worth it.

This place has solod food. I like that they have Mexican coke. And the portions are massive yet cost efficient

What made El Cilantro special was their Chipotle sauce, Build Your Own burrito and their exceptional customer service. I was there today and this place no longer has this! My food was plain and customer service could be better. The music is very loud and the dining area lacks of cleanliness. I won’t go back to this place.Food: 1/5

This place is amazing! The breakfast burrito is 10/10! Delicious and great price! Their taco also so good and so cheep. We got 5 rolled tacos, 1 fish taco, 1 birria taco, and two street tacos all for less than $13. So good!

This place was recommended as best in the area by a family member. I ordered 2 fish tacos BUT before I ordered, I asked what came on the tacos because you know not every taco shop makes their meals the same. So after getting my order I didn't have any sauce .. I went to address the situation, and it was fine. The lady at the register just gave me a cup of sauce. Now, while we were pulled over, I see a woman pull up and take her order inside. I told my fiance they must have messed up her order too. She came back out with cash though ....

You gotta go for the 99 cent tacos! Apparently there are new owners so if you have gone before, give them another try. I really like the fish tacos and they have a lot of options!Food: 5/5

I ordered 10 fish tacos which says on the menu board is 99 cent. I get to the window and She says they went up to $1.99 now. Which is a h*** of a jump I buy them there fairly often for my parents and never had a problem. When you took my money the other employee was laughing. I'm white and couldn't help but feel like this had something to do with it. I told her the menu board still said 99 cents for a fish taco. And she said oh OK we'll change it let's see if they do.

Highly recommend trying the Carne Asada Nachos and refried beans. The best I've ever had!! Everything looked so good and the prices are great it was hard to choose. TJ Street Tacos $1.29 each & they have Elote too trying both next time. First time customer will definitely be back a lotFood: 5/5

Went for the first time and realized they have 1 dollar tacos avery day so big plus there. I got 2 al pastor and 1 cabeza 1 asada and they were very good and good size considering the price. Very good tacos and super good price. Highly recommendFood: 5/5
