El Idolo

Great food, and our waiter was great. There was a taller guy with a mustache and wore a polo shirt. I assumed he was the manager, but I heard him talking negatively about customers to the staff... specifically about a gentleman and his wife. I don't think he realized that I understood Spanish.Food: 5/5

The food was delicious! Seasoned to perfection. The chips and salsa was even good. Everything was cooked with seasoning and lots of flavor. My new favorite Mexican restaurant! I had to tell my friends and make a comment to let it be known. Hidden gem in Bartlett!

First...I really love Mexican food. What I like about El Idolo is the menu has much more than just tacos, burritos, enchiladas and chimichangas - the standard stuff. While those are good on occasion, I don't always prefer my entrée to be stuffed or rolled inside some sort of tortilla. I have had the Polo El Idolo, Carne Asada, Polo Fundito, Tacos, Tostadas, and Fajitas. The portions have been large and the next day, I was giddy to retrieve my to go box from the fridge at lunch time. While I don't know where they source their menu items, the meats seem to be good quality and I've not had any issues with chewy, stringy or fatty meat. I don't usually eat much of the beans and rice at other restaurants as it's just so and I'd rather eat the entrée, but here, I eat it all. The beans have wonderful flavor. There are an abundance of Mexican restaurants in Bartlett, but this is my absolute favorite. I don't know of another Mexican restaurant where you can get food this good for such a great price. I'm always a bit stunned when I see the total on our bill in a good way.

For me, unless it's really bad, Mexican restaurants are usually pretty good. El Idolo is actually pretty great. The chips were crisp and fresh with a good flavor, and the salsa was some of the best I've ever had at a sit-down restaurant. It had a little bit more kick than the bland offerings of a lot of Mexican restaurants, but more than that it too was flavorful. I tried their molcajete. It was a wonderful mix of chicken, beef, and shrimp with all the usual peppers and onions and seasonings, topped with a blend of cheeses. It was big enough for two, or for leftovers for one in my case. The rice was good, but the beans that came as a side were worth noting. They were quite tasty. I wasn't drinking, so I paired it all with unsweetened iced tea. Including tip the total was around $25, and as I said it's going to make two meals for me. I'll be in the area for a couple more weeks and expect I'll find my way back. Recommended.

First time my BESTIE and I visited here and was very impressed! Food was just amazing and our waitress was so attentive and so nice! We are foodies so 5 for taste and service! Highly recommend.

Great restaurant and great location. The service is really good, almost got that family ran vibe going on. The tables look awesome with the artwork.

This was my first time eating here and I truly enjoyed my experience. Our waitress was awesome!!! We were seated and had our margaritas within 3 minutes. The portion size is huge and everything tasted great. I ABSOLUTELY loved the grilled shrimp it was perfectly seasoned and perfectly done. I wish I could give more stars.

We had Sr. Citizen date night. here a few nights ago. The service and food were wonderful. Very large portions. Best Margaritas we have had foe a while. We went around 430pm and we loved that it was so quite, we could talk to each other without raising our voices. Parking: Plenty of spots always. Wheelchair accessibility: Yes nest to front door.
