MBA is the prominent association representing the real estate finance industry. MBA services its membership by representing their legislative and regulatory interest before the United States Congress and federal agencies.
MBA is unique in that we are the only association devoted exclusively to real estate finance. Our industry links the housing and community financing needs of a rapidly changing marketplace to the capital markets of the nation and the world. Today, the real estate finance industry is the largest segment of the U.S. capital markets.
The industry MBA represents, mortgage banking, is involved in making, selling and servicing mortgages secured by residential or commercial real estate. Mortgage bankers are the primary suppliers of loans to the secondary market through programs administered by Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and Ginnie Mae. Mortgage bankers also make use of a number of federal and state government programs to provide more affordable housing credit.
MBA performs four primary roles as it works to serve its members and their business interests. We are the voice of the real estate finance industry; a learning center; a forum for sharing information and ideas; and we are the real estate industry’s partner in D.C.
