El Patio Argentine Restaurant in Rockville

Nice vibrant restaurant. But I was disappointed with the food. This is the first time I tried pollo saltado. Even though I did not know what to expect, the food seemed to be too salty with a lot of rice and very small amount of chicken. It seemed to me that the dish could've been renamed as a lot of rice with bits of chicken. Other dishes might be good, but would not recommend pollo saltado.

El Patio is very good and the prices are very reasonable! Where can you get a NY Strip for under $20!? The potatoe salad was also delirando their chimi churi sauce is always delightful. Come try there chorizo, empanadas & tasty deserts. The Argentine wine is always good and the coffee is always made well. Argentines are also know for their excellent service…

Great food and service! I haven’t sat down to eat here in a while, it was speedy service when i did. Here I am leaving a review of the great food and carryout service. They have very courteous staff that is very knowledgable of the food and move carryout ordering lines quickly… there is a sitting place while you wait for your food, and TVs are always on. The tucamanes and desserts are delicious!! Way better then anything pumped with sugar from Giant or at other restaurants. Highly recommend this place!

So none of the plates of food here have ever been good and the staff can definitely be rude, like "they look annoyed as soon as you walk thru the door" type of rude, and constantly try to steer you to buy certain foods basically the nasty leftovers they have. You have to tell them "No!" and sometimes they end up telling you they have no other foods available basically lying to get you to buy their nasty leftovers. They definitely try to force stuff like this on you, even small things like where you can sit! Where the place can be literally empty but they say "no you must sit here no other sitting is available" like what?? I've even seen them trying to be sneaky with "giving" water using water bottles to later charge them for it, the people complained but the restaurant still argued against them. Like what is going on with this place??

I brought 3 friends there 3 days ago as I have done do many times in the past 15 years. Just now checking my receipt and I'm quite shocked to see $9.75 for the water thar we ordered. We just wantedI water as the usual offering in all restaurants but we were given these ordinary, nothing special bottles which we never ordered. I never imagined we would be charged about 10 $ for them so I never took it up with the server or the manager. My friends and I will never go there again.

We've been here 3 times when visiting DC area. The last 2 times it took over 30 minutes to be seated when the restaurant was half empty and there were multiple servers available chatting behind the bar. We were seen by multiple people and ignored. When we finally sat down many items were unavailable in the menu even though it was fairly early. We were served the appetizer after 20 minutes of being seated with a salty platter and no water or drinks. I had to ask the server for water 3 times. The chivito didn't come with all the ingredients it should and it didn't taste freshly done. My daughter's Milanesa was dry. They didn't have half the sides. The server didn't show up for the rest of the night to refill drinks etc and we had to ask a separate server for the bill. The food is good but the service is so awful we sadly won't be coming back. Very disappointed.

Going El Patio is like you’re traveling to Argentina without leaving DC. The food and vibe is incomparable! Not only the food is amazing but the wine and deli shop in the restaurant is nostalgic according to my Argentinian friend. The meat on the grill Parrillada for two can actually feed the whole family 4ppl. We definitely had a food coma after the dinner.

Very solid Argentinian place with lots of meat at a cheap price. I recommend the Parilla Para dos. There is a ton of meat and a few generous portions of blood sausage. Definitely a great place to eat steak at a price that is well below that of a steakhouse. Parking: There is a free parking lot devoted to the shopping center. Kid-friendliness: Lots of families here.

Very fun restaurant. I went with my Argentine fiancée and she was right at home with the menu. Very big menu, full of apparently classic Argentine dishes. We had a couple empanadas really enjoyed the Empanada Tucumana and a couple Milanesa chicken fried steak dishes which each came with two side dishes. It was a ton of food for the money. Our waitress was also Argentine. I wanted to try Cafe Lagrima which I had heard about, and even though it wasn't on the menu our waitress made it for me. If I had to complain about anything, it would be the service was a bit slow, but it was pretty busy so that's understandable.

The waiting staff has an attitude / rude with no people skills and the service is horrendous. I have taken my family here several times with hopes of a better experience only to be let down and embarrassed. I had to wait for a table for over a half hour when two-thirds of the tables were available. The food is ok if you get what you ask for. My wife's order had been completely forgotten about when others dishes were served which was disappointing. I had to let her eat from my dish while she waited for her own dish. Also, items from my dish had to be substituted with other items because of the fact that they had ran out of certain foods. I had to request three times for my water to be served and only to never have it refilled. So many servers behind the bar that never provide service. At this point I was so upset I could not wait to leave this place. I had to ask a different server to get the bill. Gladly, I will not be returning. You have lost me as a customer along with friends and family. Thumbs down .
