We decided to come here for dinner! What an experience! This place is serious fun. It's a restaurant behind a grocery store. You enter from the grocery store front, keep walking through all kinds of stuff, and then it leads to the restaurant part. Everything is delicious! My husband got a plate with steak, bacon and sausage. I played safe and got tacos--I got one sausage, two beef tongue which is my all time favorite and one beef head! The beef head is fried beef heat meat--it's slightly crispy and has tons of flavor. After dinner, we bought some soda and pastry! I can see myself come back very soon!
Posting the menu since I can't find it online or in current reviews. Also - WARNING : Menu items are bigger than they appear! First time there, tried to order something "small"... the Chimichanga for about $10. Could not even begin to finish it in one sitting. Leftovers were delicious hours later.
Hidden gem, food is excellent, you can always taste the origin in this kind of store behind produce shop. Taco is excellent and free chip with beans is wonderful. Price is unbeatable... only cons is kind of far away from city...
Excellent, tasty, and authentic Mexican food experience in Norristown. The atmosphere is super relaxed, it is a genuine Mexican market with aisles bursting with beautiful handcrafts, artisan pastries, and colorful produce. Walking past those aisles you will be at the restaurant area with tables and chairs as well as very courteous and friendly servers. During my visit on a weekday at almost 11 AM, I was glad that they were still serving breakfast and offer to make a fresh pot of delightful cinnamon-spiced Mexican coffee. Our selections, ham omelet and huevos rancheros, were very pleasant and surprisingly inexpensive for the amount of ellaboration and detail involved. I will surely return to El Primo, a highly recommended place for Mexican cravings.
This place is a hidden gem! Well stocked and they had my favorite candy. Their kitchen items are also well stocked. I enjoyed taking a look at the cazuelas and molcajetes. The restaurant in the back is also wonderful. It gets busy during lunch and dinner so enjoy your time there and have a great conversation with your friend or family. I had the tacos al pastor and horchata. And they had a cool condiment table setup so I could choose which salsa to have on my tacos. Delicioso!
Delicious, worth the short drive , I had the 5 tacosbeef, chicken and a pork wife had stuffed poblanos....everything about this place was good, we did carry out. All the associates were wearing masks and very helpful. Hidden jam in my eyes
Such a great experience. Delicious food. Went with my whole fam and they were amazed. Portions are huge. Surprised that such a rich, authentic ethnic experience can be found in the burbs far away from the city. We will be back!!
Awesome place and really good food
Amazing home-made style food and of course tacos. Ask for "Especiales del día" as their options change everyday, but everything from that side menu has been a great experience. Wide variety of Mexican groceries, and pastries too.
This is not a Barilla Taco! Just tell people you don’t have it!! They gave me steak and that’s it. I had to add everything else. Steak was so dry!! Barilla is not steak ‍
