El Rio Grande

I went to this location today for the first time. We were having a lunch wedding celebration for several recently married co-workers. There were only about 6 customers dining in the front of the restaurant, and absolutely nobody in the back, during the busy lunch hour, where they sat our party of 20. I ordered the Lunch hot buffet and salad bar and proceeded to make my plates. I immediately noticed that the spinach, green leaf lettuce and the shredded iceberg was all brown and wilted. I walked all the way to the front counter, where the Mgr. was standing counting money. I explained the situation of the lettuce and asked if some fresh lettuce could be brought out. He said he would "check" on it. I thanked him and walked back and waited....approximately 5 minutes...he never came. About 15 minutes later he walked over to the bar "sifted and stirred" the lettuce around but never replaced it. About 20 minutes later another co-worker stopped a server, showed him the lettuce and spinach, and also asked for fresh greens to be brought out. The server said he would "check" the back. Even as I left, the spinach and lettuce on that bar was never replaced. Also, if you're going in there in this cold winter, keep your coat, hat and gloves on as it was freezing cold back there! I will not ever go back there and would not recommend it to anyone. Clearly, Management is not concerned with serving fresh, quality food to the customers. I had to give it at leasat the one start just to be able to publish the review, otherwise, they would have gotten the same response I got...a big, fat "nothing".

Three stars for the great waitor and chips/salsa...as for the food? Wasn't impressed at all and over priced.

Excellent place...great food and awesome margaritas...it's a win-win.
