My first time in this restaurant,i was testing a lunch buffet ..Very nice variety of meat,hand made tortillas, salads, deserts..You can't really beat this price,great deal! The only thing i didn't like so much,is that they are actually making you a plate,as you don't have a direct access to the food and serving station..I prefer to make my own plate,but it doesn't really matter,absolutely not a deal breaker..Staff amazing and very kind! I had a great lunch,and will be back for sure ..
Yes I showed up on Grad night, but it still doesn't explain why I arrived at 6:34pm and didn't get food till 8:36pm, to top it off I ordered the fajita supreme and chicken was flavorless and hard and the steak was super chewy, also don't order the shrimp popers because it's bland and greasy disappointment. All in all ill never return as a customer to eat, the drinks are good though.
El Torito in Cypress, CA, left an unforgettable impression on our Los Alamitos, Cypress & Seal Beach Rotary Club during our recent gathering. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with exceptional service that set the tone for a fantastic evening. Our large group 23 members and guests was comfortably accommodated in a designated area, where we were promptly served with refreshing drinks and a delightful assortment of chips and salsa. The attention to detail and the seamless organization were truly remarkable. We were further impressed by the efficiency with which our food orders were prepared and served. Despite the size of our group, the dishes arrived promptly and were cooked to perfection, reflecting the kitchen's dedication to quality. The standout feature of our experience, however, was the level of service we received. The wait staff's genuine warmth and attentiveness created an atmosphere of hospitality that made us feel like honored guests. Their efforts undoubtedly contributed to making our evening truly special. Our Rotary Club wholeheartedly extends its gratitude to El Torito in Cypress for exceeding our expectations. The exceptional combination of top-notch service, delicious cuisine, and welcoming hospitality ensures that we will be returning for more memorable gatherings in the future. We were seated immediately The dining room was maybe 1/4 full, but she sat us at a small booth in the bar. 3 adults and 1 child We were pretty much ignored. We ordered coffee and iced tea, and after the first cups, we were not offered refils until our food was served quite a while later. 2 baskets of chips and one very anxious 7 year old later!! My husband ordered a combination plate, tamale, enchilada, and chili relleno. His tamale was 90% masa. His enchilada, he said, was just a rolled tortilla covered in sauce, and they forgot the cheese, the taco was great. I had the carne asada burrito, it was not up to standard, and there was almost no meat. My daughter had the sour cream chicken enchiladas and was disappointed because they were not up to standard. The 7 year old had a cheese qusadilla, it was cold and made with only white cheese so he didn't like it. And I almost forgot, I ordered Chicken Tortilla Soup, always delicious!! I have never been served such a tiny bowl, though. I actually thought maybe it was "child size". I described it as adorable.
I've posted my review before, but today's is much better! Food was We came for Happy Hour and had the Beef Birria Tacos They were delicious! Plate came with 3 tacos that were a bit bigger than street tacos, some lettuce and pickled onions and awesome sauce. Our server, Jeremy was amazing. So on top of it! He brought our food and drinks out right away. And water was always full. He brought me a small taste of corn cake at no extra charge. It was a very busy Tuesday night in the bar area too. We will definitely be back again!
Tonight I stopped by El Torito and it was wonderful! The manager Jose was very good with checking up on me and if there was anything I needed. As well as the wonderful bartender Alvaro who kept up with my drinks and kept my drinks coming. Jeremy took my order and had brought my salad and it was delicious! Definitely will be coming back!
As an ex-El Torito employee, I was disappointed in the dining ambiance and the uniforms. It is more like a hotel dining experience than the colorful outfits and dresses that were worn when I worked for the company in 1982. The flavors were the same, and it was clean. My waitress was attentive and cheerful. The bar was busy and very upbeat. The bathrooms could have been cleaner and a little more maintained, but overall, it was a nice dining experience. Wheelchair accessibility: 3 spots right up front, with 3 more across from the door.
And I was only working at this El TORITO installing and/or Troubleshooting their DIRECTV equipment. All the Employees were Super Friendly and so many People go here for Sunday Buffet. They were generous enough and Feed me whatever I wanted on the Menu when I was Done,...So I had a Wet Steak BURRITOTHANKS EL TORITO
Stopped in for a business lunch and discovered they have an all you can eat buffet from 11am-2pm on weekdays. They even make fresh corn tortillas and tacos to order. The shredded pork tacos were amazing. The chili Verde on the buffet line was some of the best I've had from a restaurant. The cheese enchiladas with red sauce also were the perfect pairing. Finish that all off with homemade flan from the buffet for dessert. Highly recommend if your in the mood for Mexican and want to try a little of everything. We did the buffet so can't really speak to the service. The food is good. It's also a shock to me for some reason cuz I never have high hopes for a buffet. I come specifically for the corn cake which I love. The downside is that some dining areas are SUPER cold to the point where I scarfed my food down just to get out of there and warm up.
