Eleanor Roosevelt High School (ERHS) was established in 1976. It is named after Franklin Delano Roosevelt's wife, Eleanor, who helped create the city of Greenbelt, Maryland, in which the school is located in. ERHS is considered the Science and Technology (SciTec) Center of Maryland and has been named several times as a Top Ranking High School not only in Maryland, but in the United States (including being a Blue Ribbon High School). In addition to the SciTec program, the Academy of Information Technolog (AOIT) program [also referred as the QUEST program) is another technology program that students are admitted to.
ERHS is home of the Raider, and its faculty, staff, and students are referred to as the Raiders. The school is home to the state's finest athletes and championship teams from soccer (boys and girls), football, basketball (boys and girls), swimming, up to volleyball. Not only have successful athletes graduated from this school, but so have actors, politicians, and other diplomats.
Home to over 100 clubs, ERHS is a diverse campus where there is something for everyone and each student makes a difference for the school. Students at Eleanor Roosevelt High School are the future leaders of this country and employ that through the Roosevelt Way.
