I offer massage out of my home in Ellenville by appointment, I also travel to events and for home visits.
I first feel in love with massage as an undergraduate student in Japan. I found out that my Tai Chi instructor was offering weekly Shiatsu classes and I figured I would give it a try. My initial apathy quickly turned to fascination. Over the next 18 months I devoted myself to massage, practicing on my peers, taking personal lessons with my Tai Chi teacher and studying Tao Shiatsu with Ryokyu Endo. Later I would travel to Thailand, completing over 200 hours of Thai Massage Training with the Sunshine Network before living with a TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) practitioner for 2 months where I studied acupressure and TCM.
Recently I completed an 18 month course at the Finger Lakes School of Massage for my New York State massage license. FLSM is well known for it's Deep Tissue program, which has particularly informed my massage practice. Since I moved to Ellenville I have been working at Honors Haven Resort and Spa performing Deep Tissue, Swedish , Aromatherapy and Hot Stone Massage. I am more than capable of providing a good Swedish massage, but my specialty is in a blend of Deep Tissue, Shiatsu, Thai Massage and Acupressure. As always each massage is uniquely created for the needs of the client.
I currently provide massage out of my home and can travel with my massage chair and table for my regular rate + travel expenses.
I have a good set-up, with professionally maintained massage room and a comfortable waiting area if you arrive to your appointment early, or if I am running a few minutes late.
