The Embassy of Peru in Washington DC is in charge of executing the foreign policy goals of the Peruvian Government vis-à-vis the United States authorities. The main political issues of mutual interest are the fight against drug trafficking, terrorism and corruption, as well as the protection and promotion of democracy and human rights.

Mission

The Embassy of Peru promotes the most significant values and expressions of the Peruvian Culture whose diversity has a very long history. Culture is a factor of comprehensive development that has a multiplying effect on all aspects of the country's foreign policy such as trade, investment, international cooperation and the reduction of poverty. It also allows the Embassy to be in close contact with the Peruvian community living in the United States.

This 2023 edition of the Around The World Embassy Tour brought out a large number of observers, to get an up close look at the international embassies in the Washington, DC area.

I am trying to get an appointment for my brother since August 2022, US embassy website shows NO visa appointment available. I called and the rep told me the same thing no Appointments until further notice. You need to update your website and let Peruvian citizens know that they are no appointment available with a date of reopening. I had to cancel so many family trips because of this matter. US Embassy in Lima Peru need be more professional with situation and get this solved asap.

I called to find information on how to recuperate my dual citizenship as a child of a Peruvian born abroad, which was once mandated when I was a little girl in the 70's. During Velasco's presidency  while vacationing in Peru they didn't let us leave the country until we were registered as Peruvian. The guy that I spoke to was struggling with his English and had a heavy accent, so I talked back to him in Spanish to make it easier on him and that's when he became extremely arrogant, cocky and rude with me. I don't think he understood my situation and since I speak Spanish so well he didn't really listen to what I was asking and just assumed that I was born in Peru. He also kept speaking with other people in his office while I was still on the phone with him. He left me completely misinformed at the end and told me to go to the website to seek the information I need, which I have done many times but can't find what I need since my situation is different. I love Peru and Peruvians but this guy was  horrible , arrogant and extremely rude.

Beautiful embassy, full of Peruvian cultural influences.

I have been trying to fill out the return Affidavit of Health and Geolocation Authorization for my mother and I called the Peru Embassy, but the person told that she didn't have time to help us solve this issue, I am very disappointed and my mother needs to travel this weekend.

I called to renounce my dual citizenship. The gentleman that answered spoke in English and Spanish, was very professional and courteous and quickly walked me through the steps.

Called them for a question regarding tourist visa requirements. The person who answered was very polite and gave all the information I needed.

I call and the person who answered  was very rude and said "who calling at this time " so dissapointed and have no manners.

Nice place. Went here during the embassy tour weekend
