The staff was great and very accommodating. I have no complaints there. I know we’re just coming out of Covid times and things are tough in the hotel industry. However, the hotel is pretty outdated. The owners needs to put some money into upgrading the hotel. The carpet in the room, left me with not wanting to walk barefoot. The bathroom shower, had mold in the tile grout and smelt. The furniture in the lounge area were pretty worn and definitely in need of reupholstery.
Great location, great staff. The room was....dated and in need of serious repair. We tried to stay for 3 nights but just couldn't sleep due to the noise and conditions of the room. Was going to ask to move but after reading reviews of more of the same we just decided to check out and go elsewhere. Rooms: Room had a weird smell and was dated. You could tell the room had issues that were repaired based on the patchwork on the ceilings and in the bathroom. The furniture was tearing and scuffed. The back of the door was damaged and painted over. The fire alarm had the battery hanging out. The bathroom floor needed serious cleaning as did the grout in the shower. Really bad shape for $170 a night.
Our experience with the hotel was very pleasant. We were there for one night after dropping off our daughter to UT and spending the day in Austin The hotel is beautiful on the inside and all staff is incredibly accommodating and welcoming to all. Breakfast was our favorite part. They have a GREAT delicious selection for the buffet portion. They also have an omelette portion where Oscar cooks it for you right in front of you. It was so delicious he did wonderful. Elizabeth, the nice lady going around picking up plates, was making sure everything is going well. She was so sweet. She was constantly on her feet and being very kind to all. Overall the hotel was a great experience and would recommend to anyone going to Austin.
I had not stayed at an Embassy for some years, we were a bit disappointed. The lobby itself was good. The rooms were not real clean and rough around the edges. When we first got there, they seemed very full. The room was rough, the noise from the hall was loud, the air conditioning seemed to have some mechanical troubles and woke me up with it's loud start up sounds. The bathroom was rough with some moldy caulking, mostly needing updated. Water temperature and pressure was not great. After 2 nights of interrupted sleep, and the hotel had emptied out, we got another room down the hall. The new room was all around better and newer but still a bit rough. It was much quieter, water was somehow colder even tho the hotel was much more empty. Shower curtain rod was loose and not allowing it to keep all three water in. Breakfast first day, cook did not seem to want to be there, next day was much better. The Bar maid was nice and friendly.
The room was outdated, the pillows were the flimsiest pillows I have ever experienced, there was mold in the bathrooms of multiple rooms. A coworker tried to change her room after finding a ton of mold, and three different rooms they sent her to all had mold. My bathroom had it as well, just not to the extent that she found in hers. Several coworkers found mold in their bathrooms. My carpet was wet due to something leaking around where the refrigerator was, but may have been the air conditioning unit or the small sink , it was not the refrigerator. The couch in the room was the most uncomfortable hard couch, and it had such a look to it, that I sprayed it down with Lysol, and then covered it with a blanket to sit on it. The conference room we were in started to have water leaking from the ceiling. The room was very small for the number of people they were told would be attending. We were supposed to have 10 person tables, that were more like seven/eight person tables. One of the two elevators ran so incredibly slow, I started intentionally avoiding that elevator, and would not get in it if it reached me first. All of us have informed our supervisors to not ever stay at this hotel for our conference in the future. A positive is the breakfast buffet that included being able to get a made to order omelette. That was great.
Rooms are comfy and quiet. Really enjoyed the breakfast service, Oscar made a delicious egg white omelette, and Elizabeth was very attentive asking how our food was and cleared our plates.Rooms: 5/5
This is a great hotel with very clean rooms, great customer service and good ambiance. The location is just perfect in a beautiful and quiet area. The breakfast is amazing! I strongly recommend this hotel for business or leisure with family. Rooms: Very clean rooms Safety: Very safe area. Food & drinks: Breakfast is amazing!
Dated! Dated! Dated! Room was like staying at a scratch & dent sale at a used furniture place. The carpet, curtains, pretty much everything was a throw back to the 90's. Wasn't even able to charge my cell phone. Wishing I would have stayed somewhere else for the cost.Rooms: 1/5
Pretty bad. Hilton should take their name of this immediately. If you have any other option, then go there. I feel if government housing entered the hotel industry, this is what it would feel like. Now when you get there, amazing first impression. Front desk, a little understaffed but super amazing meet and greet. They call you by your last name, they offer you to drink vouchers, and their lobby is incredible. They may even go as far to tell you they’re going to upgrade your room to a suite. Amazing. Little did I know those drinks were to numb you for the horror story awaiting upstairs. Upstairs is literally American horror story. From the minute, we open up our door, the fresh, uncensored, raw smell of mildew hit us immediately. Smell like cigarettes and hookers. The amount of love stains on the furniture were the first things we noticed. Old carpet and sticky furniture had us watching tv standing up. Now the beds are actually comfortable. And you could tell House Keeping does a good job, changing the sheets, and managing the things they are able to manage. The beds were fine. But the towels, and wash cloths, smelled so terrible. My buddy on the whole car ride reeked-of those towels. It’s like they just wash the towels in non detergent water. Btw, the shower had rust in the tub. If you could spend the extra $30, don’t be a sucker like me. I wouldn’t send my worst enemy to this hotel. Have a great day.
We typically love the Embassy brand, but when we stayed here at the end of July, the hotel was very humid, and our room was very damp. We did not see obvious mold, but when we woke up, our towels were still wet, and our clothes felt damp. It was very unpleasant. The usual, breakfast buffet was very good though.
