My experience with this location was nothing but insult on top of injury. The manager does not seem to be competent, and one of his employees should be fired for mistreatment of customers. My insurance company is providing me with a rental car after a bad wreck while they pursue the other driver's insurance company for fault. My insurance emailed me a link to use Enterprise's Priority Pass, which allowed me to reserve a mid-size sedan and pick up time for the next morning at 10 am. Unfortunately, due to Google's review character limit, I can't provide most details of my horrible experience. The extremely brief version is this: 1 The manager did not understand how Priority Pass is supposed to work. 2 I was charged extra for an upgraded class of vehicle because the location did not have the class I reserved. 3 The A/C did not work in the first car they gave me. 4 An employee accused me of lying because the Enterprise confirmation email did not show the reduced price of the class of car I reserved. I did not get a car until I spent the afternoon communicating with the area supervisor. He eventually did get this location to provide me with a complimentary upgrade which he said is standard practice when a reserved class is not available. However, I did not leave the Enterprise lot until after 4 pm. So the location wasted more than six hours of my day, after I had planned a full itinerary for the day getting my injuries checked out and documented, going to the tow yard to clean out my car before insurance took it away, and picking up the police report so I had proof that the other driver was at fault. Enterprise needs to demote this location's manager until he can be re-trained. He clearly doesn't understand how Priority Pass works, he doesn't know that the company provides complimentary upgrades when a reserved class size is not available, and he clearly didn't properly train his subordinate on how to treat customers both myself and a woman they left stranded who was not informed she needed a credit card in her name. And the employee who accused me of lying should be fired. ------------------------ REPLYING TO THE COMPANY'S RESPONSE: No, I am not wasting more time emailing back and forth with you. You know the location, which means you know how to contact the area supervisor. Do your job and contact him. Then if you are truly interested in corrective action, get him to do his job.
Enterprise came through for me, again. The online reservation was quick and easy. The gentlemen at the pickup counter were friendly and courteous. I had a quick checkout and check-in process.
Awesome customer service. They got me in and out fast!!! Even after I made reservations and they told me the car I had reserved they didn’t have anymore but they immediately placed me into another car. It wasn’t an issue at all! I appreciate the awesome customer service.! Thank you guys!
Car was nice and clean. Gas was not even half of a tank when picked up. Inconvenient when you're on limited time for travel.Did'nt expect over $100 plus in extra fees when I arrived. Would've appreciated a reminder email or call as well leading up to receiving the rental.
We rented a mini van August 4-7th from the Bessemer Location. Sam tall skinny guy took care of us picking the car up, we had an apt for 11am. We didn’t get into that van for two hours after. The first excuse was maintenance alignment, it pulled to the right and pulled to the right our whole trip then they said a guy bumped into something and they had to fix but there was No markings of being hit. As this is very frustrating, i let him Sam know how it was unacceptable, he made the remark “ well do you want to drive it while pulling right?” Well of course not but i state again our apt was for 11am and all this things should have been taken care before pickup time, he apologized for not meeting “My expectations” as that isn’t my expectations that’s y’all’s and I was holding y’all accountable. If that guy is the face of your company, i wish the best for you. The other employees scattered as he stated such nonsense to me, which i wouldn’t want to be involved with an employee like that either.
Horrible. Booked reservation a month and a half in advance. Confirmed the reservation at 4:30 p.m. the day before pick up. Arrived at 8:30 the next morning and was told there were no cars available for me. The man up front looked at me with shrugged shoulders as if I was supposed to accept that that was that. I expressed the inconvenience and was just handed a card with other enterprise locations to call. Why would their mistake be my job to fix? They then recommended I call the insurance agent representing the case to upgrade the vehicle, but the agent was out of office that day. As if this was either of our problems to fix anyway. I had a pre-operative medical appointment to make it to, but that didn't seem to change anything. The office spoke kindly, but was completely useless. I ended up agreeing to pay $8 a day for an upgraded car in order to make a necessary medical appointment. Ridiculous service. They kept reiterating someone was late for car drop off. Why would only one car be available, but four "upgradable" cars were ready to go?? Complete inability to take accountability from anyone who works here. Update: After receiving a response to this complaint, I provided an email reply immediately. This public complaint was answered immediately, but the private email has not been answered after days. Getting the feeling the public response is to keep up the appearance that concerns are being addressed, but they are not.
Omg! Horrible! I reserved a car. Get confirmation email and everything. Get to the location, the rep took my Id and credit card and then 5 minutes later he informed me that there were no cars available. I was dropped off so I had to call me a ride to get back home. It seems like there should be some type of system in place that would not allow you to reserve a car if there is none available. Or maybe have someone call before your appointment time to inform there were no more cars available.I even offered to get any size car if the size I reserved was not available, but the guy stated there were none available. And this is like the second time this has happened to me at this location. This was a waste of time. Had I known this in advance I could have tried another place. But since this is the second time this has happened to me at this location, I will definitely not use Enterprise ever again.
This was the first time I’ve used the Bessemer location & the Staff did a phenomenal job they offered water while being courteous were and informative about the waiting times . Although I had an issue with my rental they resolved the problem quickly also the fuel level was low but the manager said I could return it on empty which really helped me out tremendously . I would recommend this Branch to any who’s looking for Excellent Customer Service
HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE AT THIS LOCATION WITH BRANCH MANAGER SAM MCLAUGHLIN!! WE WILL NEVER COME BACK TO THIS BRANCH AS LONG AS SAM WORKS THERE. We had a reservation reserved at this location from the insurance company. We spoke to Johnathan at the desk and provided him with the reservation number. He stated he will need to locate a vehicle and to give him a moment to locate a vehicle. We waited patiently with no problem. I walked up to the desk about 40 mins later asking Johnathan, how long will it be for us to get into a rental. He stated to me again, "allow him a moment and he will get back with us." We waited over an hour and 30 mins. sitting in the lobby. Then, our name was called by Sam. We said, yes. He stated, we don't have a vehicle for you. Of course, we were upset and asked why you just now telling us this and we waited for over an hour and a half. He showed no empathy what so ever!! Then an shouting match ensues and his body language begins to changes. Sam should not have a position as a branch manger dealing with customers at all. I asked him for his name and he said, "here, take a card" and shoved the card in my hand. He then started placing blame on us, telling us that the insurance just sent the reservation a few mins. ago which was a LIE!! We provided Johnathan with the reservation when we first walked in to the office. Why Johnathan couldn't tell us there was no cars available? Why did Sam had to tell us the news? Sam didn't try to resolve this issue or try to accommodate at all. I really feel that Sam behavior and body language towards us, showed he didn't care to assist a black family. I guaranteed you, Sam assist the other people who came in after us and was different color and provided a better service to them than to us, who waited over an hour for a vehicle. We left out of the office and then Miah comes behind us to my car and offered her sincere apology on how we were treated and what we experience with Sam. When I tell you, Miah, WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND AND CALLED ANOTHER LOCATION FOR US TO PICK UP A RENTAL, WE WERE SO GRATEFUL OF HER. Miah and I never had any interactions while we were at the branch. For Miah to deliver exceptional customer service and apologize when she had no dealing with us in the beginning speaks volume. Miah DESERVES TO HAVE THE BRANCH MANAGER POSITION, NOT SAM!! ENTERPRISE, MIAH IS A HUGE ASSET TO THIS COMPANY AND SAM NEEDS TO BE ADMONISH!! AGAIN, MIAH, I THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR TAKING CARE OF US AND ASSISTING MY ELDERLY MOTHER WITH A VEHICLE. I HOPE MIAH'S PERFORMANCE DOES NOT GO UNNOTICED. JOB WELL DONE MIAH!!
I have rented cars for years all over the US. The Bessemer Alabama location is the worst rental car experience I’ve had. They never have the car you reserve. The wait is outrageous. Other customers complain to each other about the service while waiting. I usually use the airport but I started to use them recently do to the location being closer to my home. This was my third time using this location. I have been a Emerald Club Executive Elite customer with this branch for years. At this location the level of service and the amount of questions asked here is unbearable. Today April 12 2023 the same thing. I was asked where I work and and I asked why and I got immediate attitude from a woman named Savanna. Then she gave back my drivers license and credit card and told me she would not rent me a car because I have a attitude. I was already disappointed when I was told the car I rented wasn’t available for the third time. I told her she did me a favor. I’m a common sense man if I rented from this location previously shouldn’t it be a record of my information to speed up the process. I wrote this review for people who have certain expectations. If you expect to get a certain vehicle reserved this place isn’t for you. If you don’t have time to wait while the vehicle is cleaned this isn’t the place for you. And if you don’t want to fill out a mini application before you get keys this isn’t the place for you.
