The Anesthesiologist and nurses prior to and during my C-Section would get a 5 star review, but everything after that went downhill. I have no idea how this places gets voted best place to have a baby - I've had a baby in another hospital in another state and truly feel sorry if the women of Chattanooga think this is good care. I can only speak to the labor and delivery department in my review, but would never recommend having a baby here.
If I could give zero stars I would. My wife had a car accident and had to be taken to the ER. Upon arrival, I was asked to leave the waiting room by the short fat security guard. I was given no explanation as to why I was to leave. There was plenty of room in the waiting room for patients coming in. After being told to leave the waiting room, my wife waited 3 hours to get called back. After being called back the nurses began telling her that the wreck was her fault. Who cares even if it was? The staff needs to do a better at actually doing their jobs! At the end of the day no one wants to be in the hospital. It’s time for these bums to stop being so insensitive. Stay far away!!
Dr. Few is my OBGYN and she is a very kind person. I saw her throughout my entire pregnancy and she delivered my son via emergency c-section. Although my birth plan did not pan out, she did a great job of helping me feel safe and heard throughout the process. The L&D nurses and the NICU nurses are PHENOMENAL and I couldn’t have imagined a better experience in those aspects despite everything.
ER - 5 STAR MedSurge Nursing overall - 2 STAR!! OT/PT - 5 STAR MD - 4 STAR THE GOOD - ER was excellent response, bedside manner, informative, clean, and helpful. Inpatient OT/PT was outstanding! Ivan was personable with a heart of gold to help where the nursing staff was NOT. The MDs were kind, informative and helpful. THE BAD - MedSurge for inpatient stay was outrageous overall. There were some fantastic nurses of course. My mom was there for 2 weeks. In that 2 weeks she was left for HOURS unattended AFTER calling for help. We witnessed it multiple times while in the room. They requested family stay with her to help as they were not staffed for it. We would call for a bathroom trip and it would take 2 hours to get help. She would sit in soiled pads until they arrived. Her legs were numb and constricting. Requests for water would go unattended or "we will be right there" would take 45min to 2/3 hours. If a nurse is busy with an expired patient please under not uncertain circumstances do we expect them to attend to us, SOMEONE ELSE HELP!! I would go to the nurse station and 2-3 nurses are there at their desks. Food would sit away from her bedside and she would call for someone to bring it, 45+ minutes goes by and now cold nasty food. Overnight support wad even worse!!
I have never been disappointed by a hospital until I moved here and had to deal with Erlanger East. The labor and delivery department may sound good on advertisements but dealing with them personally has been so stressful. I'm a high risk patient that's supposed to be induced tomorrow. I had more panic attacks since Monday then I have had since being pregnant. Staff tells you one thing and manager says another to doctor. I'm at the point where I don't want to have my baby here. Very disappointed. Glad this is my last pregnancy because I never want to deal with this department again.
Labor and delivery was great! Had my baby girl 2/16/23. The nurses were very professional, attentive and compassionate. This was a way better experience than my first delivery at a different hospital. Great job and thank you to all the wonderful nurses!!!
DO NOT GO HERE! I was miscarrying and came to this hospital for help 3times in a matter of days. On the last visit I found out they were with holding information from me , that the triage lady mistakenly told me about. Every visit they told me nothing was wrong with my baby or pregnancy that everything I was experiencing was normal but before they discharged me , for the last time , the DR told me “ you might miscarry there’s nothing we can do “ and then walked off! I also have another experience where I went to be seen and they gave me the wrong information & told me to go somewhere else to be sure !
Just had a knee revision. Could not have been a better experience. From the front desk to the ladies in the waiting room. Just when I thought it couldn't get any better it did. All the nurses were outstanding especially Kati , TaniMia , Sarah and Nicole and others whose names I did not get. The surgery staff is superb. Then there is Dr. Mathew Bernard. Excellent surgeon. Takes time to explain the procedure in detail, answers all the question, has a great bedside manner and takes care of the problem. Could not ask for a better team. Thank you all for the outstanding care.
I had shoulder surgery last Wednesday and I'm rating it on my hospital experience. Not, any hospitality or insurance issues that people may have at any hospital. Clean, inviting people who genuinely cared about my well-being. Overall, I have 0 complaints and would definitely recommend this hospital. Thank you Erlanger East!
I would not trust the experience or skill of anyone at this facility. A Dr. brown handled me and my exzema, he wasnt wearing gloves and barely took the time to look at my situation. Im going to the ER today because my chart, that took me an hour to fill out, wasnt even used to determine what meds i needed and my situation is way worse off now. If i could sue for malpractise, i would!
