Escondido Police Officers

The HEROs of the Escondido Poice Department SAVED the day today! In the face of untold danger and risk, they put their lives on the line for their community! As I drove by several officers conducting what appeared to be a traffic stop, I shared my dislike of law enforcement in general by displaying my middle finger through the windshield then out the sunroof. Luckily for the community, the light I was approaching turned red and I stopped. These brave officers immediately ran my plate, which came back clean of course. So they approached on foot and told me to pull over. It turned out I allegedly had a tail light out and window tint on my front windows. These two courageous officers just saved the people of Escondido from serious danger! I immediately received a very important lecture about how I shouldn't share my general disdain with individual officers because it is rude and I should base my opinion on each officers' own conduct. These fine officers examined every inch of the outside of my car, checking to see if I had a front license plate or any other reason to cite me for the good of the community. Sadly there was nothing else they could find, so I just received a citation for the alleged tail light and tint, plus improper signalling for putting my hand out the sunroof. I just have to say that I am extremely grateful for these officers for their thin skin and for how easily offended they were. If they weren't, they never would have pulled me over, stolen my money, gave me a well deserved lecture, and been true HEROS! So the lecture asked me to base my opinion on each individual officer I encounter. I have to say I now have a fantastic opinion of these FINE officers who pulled me over and gave me tickets solely because they got their feelings hurt. Escondido, be proud of your officers! Just think how they treat people who curse at them, don't obey orders, or resist arrest. At least I didn't get a beat down.

My household was robbed on May 1st 2022 and we still have NOT received an update with the pending investigation. It’s October….. We had a mediocre un-experienced investigator stop by the day of to collect finger prints and gloves that were left behind. He even said he was new and hadn’t completed all training sessions to be finger-print certified. It may be too hard for them to collect any evidence of anything from the robbery, even 5 months later. I even went out of my way to obtain camera footage from my household and neighbors with a description or people and vehicles involved. Yet nothing has been found by these so called police officers. Here to protect and serve! SIKE. Detective Nelson has not contacted us in over 5 months and he’s the “Head of Investigations Department”… more like Head of doing absolutely nothing and getting paid for it lmao. I had to call and left about 2-3 voicemails weekly and no response until weeks later. He said a PI would be assigned to the investigation as soon as possible, yet nothing so far. I truly think EPD gives no ***** about the community nor residents of the city. I understand that there may be other cases they’re currently working on, however an update or phone call would be acceptable AND expected, at the bare minimum. Must be nice to do absolutely nothing, tell people what to do when they want, and get paid for lazy, poor behaved work. Someone please replace Detective Nelson. Worst person to hold power for such a large and very important department. Hire someone who is WILLING TO WORK, has more energy, motivation, and pride for their job. Maybe after reading this review they’ll finally call back. My overall experience was truly disappointing and the dissatisfaction holds a very negative taste in my mouth.

I made a sarcastic comment and my sister that has never gotten along with me took it seriously and told told the police I was suicidal. She is a narcissist, for example she emphasizes “my mom”.And she is racist. My father is not Hispanic and that makes me white washed. It was a vexatious attack. She only has a pop culture stigmatized understanding of mental health.

Hi I'm the bicycle guy yeah it's me again. Just here to say thanks for pulling over some years back mainly because the Franchise tax board took the money for that fraudulent ticket your rookie officer at the time wrote. You guys are let's say truly unremarkable.

I made an online poice report back in early April. I still have not heard from anyone regarding my supposedly approved claim/ issue. Its now June. The service is absolutely ridiculous and unexceptable. What is the point of having police if they don't do their jobs. I am a victim of theft.i feel tossed away and like my invasion of identity doesn't matter. The police are just as horrible as people doing crime by ignoring situations

Thanks to the police officer that stopped when my car stalled today at the intersection of E. Valley Park Way and Auto Park Way. He remained behind my car to ensure my security and was very professional. However I failed to get his name. Thank you so much!!!

This review does not reflect the officers. It reflects the Hiring process. The hiring process is very vague in emails. If you are in the military do NOT APPLY. They won't even accept you for the written test unless you are a civilian. They do Not tell you before hand, they do Not tell you in the emails, they tell you AFTER you WASTE your time getting there and SIT down to TAKE the test. They said you're Instantly Disqualified. Dear Escondido fix your system so you don't Waste someone's time especially the Military Members who have to fight to get time off and who want to continue serving other after they're contract is up. If you only want people who only have time for waiting around be more specific in your job description. Also, I DO NOT want a reply from you regarding this matter. Thanks

Officer Maxwell responded to a call for which I was involved in. Let me tell you guys, he’s the most humble officer I’ve came across. If it wasn’t for last nights encounter I would of given this post 1 star. There was also another officer that responded but I didn’t catch his name. He was nice too. No disrespect to any officers but most of them are very cold and rude.

Officer from escondido police department was unprofessional. 911 dispatcher was unprofessional. The responding officer's supervisor was unprofessional when we called to complain about his officer not doing his job correctly. He was defending his mistakes. I personally do not feel like we are protected by these people wearing badges. The only professional people were the fireman that responded to the accident. They new exactly what was going on with the situation. The driver that hit the car was under the influence and the officers did not catch it. But he left his drugs on the side of the road for the escondido police department to have to come back to pick up! Truly Disappointing! NO SOBRIETY TEST was COMPLETED he got away driving under the influence!
