Description

Under the same ownership since 1974, Esteban's is a mainstay of Tlaquepaque, featuring handcrafted pottery by many Southwestern artists. Browse through Esteban's and enjoy a wide variety of functional and decorative pottery, as well as unique wall decor items for your home or office. Fun, affordable art is the focus, and everything is made in the U.S.A

Owners Steve and Nancy Scagnelli opened Esteban’s in 1974. It was one of the first shops in the newly built Tlaquepaque Arts and Craft Village. Originally, Steve made all the pottery for the shop, and his unique line of carved vases and jars is still a mainstay of the gallery. Over time more and more artists were added to the store, and today Esteban’s represents over fifty craftsmen, mostly from Arizona and other southwestern states.

Our friendly staff is ready to help you pick out just the right piece for your home or as a gift for someone else..

An absolutely lovely pottery shop in the equally lovely Tlaquepaque Shopping Village in Sedona. There are so many different styles of handmade pottery that, whether you are looking for a gift or ceramics for your table and/or home, there is sure to be something for everyone.
We usually stop into this shop at least once a year, typically there is a cranky older lady there, but the pottery is amazing so we continue to go. This last Saturday we stopped in and there was a delightful young lady at the front. She gave us space and then wonderful conversation when approached. Not only did we leave with $200 worth of local pottery but a smile on our face. Good job Esteban's!!!
Love this shop, every time we visit Sedona it is on our list to stop in....and leave with a couple of beautiful pieces!! Love supporting the local artist and the staff is always knowledgable about each piece thank you Peg. Just be warned if you see something you like get it because it may not be there in a couple of hours when you return!
Such a cute shop! I love going somewhere and finding items made locally. I wasn't expecting to purchase anything, but the saleslady pointed out a new fragrance the store just started to carry. It’s a lovely, relaxing scent and it’s made locally with 100% pure, clean, and natural ingredients. Thank you, Barbara!!
Amazing pottery! The sales woman beats to her own drum for sure so easy to understand people taking her the wrong way, but I got along with her and while she made some joking comments I took them in stride and in a positive light! Love the store and original items, had to control my desire to buy too much! Plus the woman told me I was only allowed 1 mug , I bought two!
The sales staff is the RUDEST! Yes the shop is cute but beware of the terrible service. We were browsing and trying to decide on an item and the sales lady basically told us to leave the shop since we were taking too long. She came over and pushed us to decide, glaring at us and calling it an "intervention". I was so appalled. There was only one other guest in the shop so it was not like we were taking up space. Even then, it shouldn't be a problem if a customer wants to take their time. I came to write a review and realize that others have also experienced the WORST service! NEVER AGAIN!
This is my favorite store in all of Sedona. Instead of bringing home another tshirt, we purchased two beautiful, timeless pieces. Stephanie, the sales associate, was amazing! She was very personable and friendly. We can’t wait to return here.
I shopped while on vacation in February. I was drawn in to the gallery by a beautiful mug with a dog painted on it. It had the same spaniel on it as my beloved pet so I had to have it to remember my trip to Sedona! I found several other items to bring home as gifts and souvenir as well. Just as I was choosing my last item to purchase, the woman working said "let's just take this and put it behind the counter" and PULLED MY BAG CONTAINING MY WALLET OFF MY ARM AND TOOK IT BEHIND THE REGISTER. I was so appalled and embarrassed another person would treat a paying customer this way. Coincidentally my dog passed away three weeks later and now I have this beautiful mug to remember him by but it will always be overshadowed by how I was treated in this shop. Never in my life...
Bought 2 perfect mugs and a large vase by Kurt Glover. Thankfully, we had amazing help from a young lady and not the usual Karen.
The store was lovely but the sales woman was rude and nasty. Wrote a full review on Yelp. While shopping at Esteban’s Sedona shop on Monday, January 29th, I found the perfect gift. Since I was traveling I asked the store sales woman if they had bubble wrap. I did not receive a reply so when I asked again. The reply I got was “if you went into a dental hygienist to get you teeth cleaned, would you ask them if they had the tools to do it?”. I stood looking at her in stunned silence all the while thinking if I really wanted to purchase the item or tell her off and walk out the door. I stood there long enough starring at her to be uncomfortable not for me but for her until she said “am I right?” I think she expected me to agree with her that I was being stupid. When I remained silent she finally got it and started to make excuses. I was still contemplating telling her off when I heard a small “I’m sorry but you have no idea how many times I’m asked that” then says “of course we have bubble wrap, we are a ceramic shop”. How was I to know that...it was obvious to her but for all I know, she was the stupid one that didn’t know what bubble wrap was or they may have run out that morning. Wouldn’t have been easier just to say “yes” when I asked? Ok so now I accept that I am purchasing it and give my credit card. She puts the purchase through. I walk around the shop looking at other stuff because I sure didn’t want to make small talk. She next said “come over here like I’m some child”. “I wanted you to see that I did wrap it in bubble wrap before I wrapped it in paper so you would know I just didn’t wrap it in paper”. I never said a word because there were other customers but I thought my head was going to explode I was so angry. This woman wasn't the owner but an employee who clearly doesn't like or respect customers.
