My wife and I loved the decor of this restaurant. and that's what attracted us And their food did not disappoint us. our food restrictions were honored While we dined in Estia, we noticed wedding receptions taking place. reminding us of our wedding reception We enjoyed ourselves and we'd recommend our family and friends to dine here too. The next time we're in town, we'll surely stop by again. Dietary restrictions: Sugar and flour restrictions
Atmosphere: Estia has a very fine dining yet rustic ambiance. When dining at night, there is dimmed lighting that highlights the rich colors that make up their decor. Service: Service was really thoughtful and fast. They gave us great recommendations on what to order and move our seats to accommodate our party. Food: I ordered from the Theatre Menu and got the Octopodi appetizer which came with capers and a red wine vinaigrette which made it a refreshing way to start my meal. For the entree, I got Lamb Trahana Shank which was super light yet filling! Lastly, finished with the delicious Salted Caramel Baklava and Honey Walnut Cake. Tips: Our waiter told us ordering from the Theatre Menu gets you a better value - it comes with an appetizer, entree, and dessert options you can choose from!
Absolutely delicious food! Cozy and relaxed ambience and wonderful service! My husband and I went to Estia for our 3rd anniversary dinner date and we were absolutely thrilled with our culinary experience! I highly recommend the Estia chips, lamb shank, lamb chops, salted caramel baklava and the greek coffee. I was in a mood for a sweet cocktail and the pomegranate margarita was just on point while my husband went with Prosecco. Simple and delicious recipes! Highly recommend this place!
Honestly the best part with this place was the waiter. His service was fantastic. The lamb chops were good but not $54 good especially served with fries. I should’ve gotten something different that I couldn’t have found somewhere else. But it is a beautiful place, great service, good food, strong drinks too strong for me lol. No parking though.
Great service and friendly staff. Our table was originally in a small corner and the area was very loud due to the larger tables around us and overall design of the room. We asked to move to a quieter section and the staff was very accommodating. We had the theatre menu and the appetizers were all incredible. Especially like the spanokopita. We also ordered a calamari for the table and it was amazing. It had a nice slight peppery taste to it and was light. The starter bread and hummus was also delicious. For entree, I had the lobster linguini. Not much lobster and the dish was incredibly saucy. Overall, the dish was ok
I ate here for a girls weekend and we were all pleasantly impressed! The service was impeccable and the ambiance was just the right amount of conversational noise level so we could actually hear each other. I highly recommend the Estia chips and Octopodi for apps- delish! For dinner we had the Salmon, Lamb Chops, and Moussaka. Some in my party found the Moussaka flavorful but a bit salty. Overall, it was a great experience!
My husband and I came here before our theater show, got the pre theater menu which came with an appetizer, main course, and dessert. I got the octopus appetizer, fish of the day meal, and the walnut cake. My husband got the salad, fish of the day, and baklava dessert. Let me just say the atmosphere was excellent and the staff was awesome. They don’t have a virgin drink on their menu but they made a virgin mojito for us and it was awesome. 100% recommend this place! Also complimentary bread and hummus!
Beautiful elegant Mediterranean restaurant. Got a full bar and lots and lots of seating area. Service was good and it was quite on a monday evening so it felt like we had our own intimate space. Great dinner date spot. Drink: the pomegranate margarita was so good. I think it was made beautifully. The Dionysus was also very good and refreshing since it was sparkling. Appetizer: The complementary bread with the hummus was so good! Hummus was so light it was almost whipped and so creamy and complemented the nice toasted bread. The crab cake is a must try! It's not like most crab cakes I had because this one sits in top of lentils and it was so addicting. The crabmeat tasted fresh and soft. Everything on that plate was polished gone. Calamari was soft and chewy. It was a massive portion so I think it was well worth every dollar on the appetizers. Main course: the lamb trahana didn't look like much but it was all in the flavors. The lamb was tender and it was in bit size so it blended in. Despite being so full we could not help ourselves to finish this as well. Dessert: Karidopita is a walnut cake that is spongy. It sat on top of honey and the perfect dessert to end the whole meal. It's not too dense but moist but not soggy. It was really delicious as well.
If you enjoy a little slice of Greece in Philly, you will love this place. Located across the street from the Academy of Music, Estia Greek: Ἑστία means "hearth/fireplace” is worth a visit. Reservation was easy made via Open Table for post theatre dinner after seeing Les Mis. The restaurant was huge and colorful whose decor whisks one away to a cafe in the Mediterranean. My partner and I made the most of Estia's options with the theater menu comprised of an appetizer, entree and dessert. Vera took care of us and brought complimentary bread with hummus and radish. As a starter, we ordered the Spanakopita Spinach, leeks, scallions and feta baked in housemade phyllo dough and Keftedes lamb and beef meatballs stuffed with feta in marinara sauce. For entree, we got Roasted Chicken Roasted leg and breast served over caramelized onion and yogurt orzo with a lemon thyme jus and Fish of the Day grilled seabass with vegetable risotto. For dessert, we decided on the lemon sorbet and Karidopita Traditional honey walnut cake. Every single plate was incredible, tasty and delicious with the portion reasonable. The staff were friendly and welcoming who would check up on us throughout the meal. The atmosphere at Estia was really nice, and is a good place for groups, couples or friends as spoken to the co-owners Monica and Telmo which we could highly recommend it.
Tldr: amazing at ever step The full glowing review: The restaurant itself was very beautiful. The lighting was a perfect balance between dim and still able to read the menu. The decorative lights were so beautiful. There was also the cosiest booths I've ever been in, they are surrounded by curtains and feel so private and comfortable. The corners have pillows and once I was stuffed at the end of the meal I was thankful to lean on them. The staff was wonderful. They let our table look at the fish and pick theirs. They have great suggestions and know the menu well. The food was to die for. The appetizers, sides, and main dishes were delicious and perfectly cooked. No one at our table of six had a crumb left on their plate. We had vegetarian dishes, fish, chicken, breads, it was all wonderful.
