I was very skeptical about staying at this campground because of the reviews. I want to say it could not be farther from the truth. The place is beautiful on the river. Cellphone service is zero but they do have Wi-Fi that helps a little. All the employees have been very welcoming and accommodating. When we first arrived they brought us a brand new fire ring and put stones around it. We travel full time for work. It is nice to have a place you can feel at home and enjoy instead of like a prison like some campgrounds.
My family took me last weekend for my 60th bday..we had a blast..restrooms were clean, and the host was sweet..I highly recommend it for anyone who tent camps.. Nearby activities: Go check out the waterfalls in the areas
Worst campground I’ve ever stayed at! 10/10 would NOT recommend! No cell phone service whatsoever, Wi-Fi is spotty at best. There’s a playground that’s falling apart complete with what looks like toys from a yard sale 30 years ago! Rules are made up that are not on the rule list. What’s ok for others campers is not ok for the rest. And it seems like rules only apply tow the fist 2 rows of campers considering they’re near the entrance and beside the office. And let’s not forget about the viral video of the owner assaulting someone!
Mostly full time campers but the campground is clean and quiet. River is just yards away. Staff is great .Gabby you are the bomb.Service: 5/5
I LOVED THIS PLACE...Was it a bite rough? Yes..but so peaceful and very friendly people..the maintenance man ..old timer..was the best at info of what's in the river..gold, silver, and garnets..I have dirt I collected for river to do at home..that being said I did find garnets and when i find anything more ill report it. thank you for the wonderful stay..will be back.....P.s people please don't liter..been to Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, Florida, and Georgia and never have I ever seen so much liter..stay safe
You don't mind rustic down-to-earth camping we love going this place it's got a beautiful little stream running through it we love swimming and kayaking down it fun to try and find gold in the foothills of dahlonegaLocation: 5/5
We stayed in ERC in Jan 23. I made a telephone reservation without seeing the facility. They charged us $60 for one night. We were expecting a "resort" campground. Instead it had dirt roads full of pot holes, the bathrooms were is bad disrepair. The literature we were given at check-in had a price of $40/night for 30 amp service. The wifi was erratic. We will never stay there again.
Had awesome camping trip at the Etowah River Campground. My son and I set out on an overnight kayak trip from this location this weekend. We didn't have any issues getting down river. The owner was very friendly and even volunteered to pick me up down river after dropping off my truck. Family friendly atmosphere. BTW don't listen to the other posts about derogatory stuff. It was a setup to try to malign this business. They are good people.
I found this place to be one of the cleanest and friendliest campgrounds in the area! The owners are amazing and treat everyone like family! You might get lucky and get a little insight on the history of the area if Mr Dawkins is around. I could not think of a more perfect place to take my family!
I would not recommend going here. The owner is very rude & at times violent. I witnessed the owner physically attack a camper, unprovoked. Law enforcement saw the video of the attack & sided with the local owner, refused to press charges. Also, the property is so poorly maintained with deep ruts that some vehicles have been damaged by driving through. To top it off they claim to do background checks on long term campers but do not. There are felons living there who allow their pitbulls to roam freely.
