Have had more than one visit to this wonderful hospital!! A friend from out of town spent several days here. She was impressed with her care and so many nice people! I have had several tests ordered here. Cassie is good at her job and makes you feel comfortable while doing her tests! She is my hero! Many thanks to all!
I came in late on a Friday night with a really bad forearm cut that ended up needing stitches. The front desk staff, nurse and doctor were all very nice! They got me out of there quickly, just under an hour. I also got a followup call about a week later which was very appreciated.
My husband went in with a possible spine fracture, all we needed was a quick x-ray. He was in severe pain and needed treatment asap, but they said it wasn't an emergency, and they would schedule him for an x-ray when they can, sometime later in the week. I didn't know hospitals are allowed to refuse medical treatment in an emergency, but they did. They showed absolutely no concern for him.
I only gave one star because zero isn’t an option! DO NOT go to this hospital for your healths sake and your sanity. This hospital has TONS of horror stories. Not to mention, my fiancé went in for what we thought could be a potential blood infection. He came in, the nurse looked at it and told the doctor what was going on. The doctor immediately went to the front desk and told the girl “charge him for this.” Even though WE HAVE INSURANCE. Turns out, they charged him $100 out of pocket because it “wasn’t an emergency.” IT WAS A SATURDAY AND WE THOUGHT HE COULD HAVE BLOOD INFECTION. The doctor didn’t even LOOK at the wound or anything. I’ve emailed them to try and let them make it right and refund our money with no response. Awful place, awful staff, don’t go.
Went in in intense pain. Without even offering me a pillow an IV- NO labs or even a temperature check, Dr. Rayburn said it was just anxiety and sent me home. He is an incompetent “Doctor” and I’m extremely upset I had to leave an ER right next to my house and drive 30 minutes to another to get proper care.
I had a stroke Thanksgiving Day while visiting the Crescent Hotel & was taken to this little hospital. They were all friendly & professional but I feel certain if it hadn't been for "Nurse Amanda" I wouldn't be here today. I was in Afib & she realized it even though the doc didn't. In his defense, he had just eaten a big Thanksgiving dinner & was pretty foggy & looking for a place to nap! If I could've gotten up & walked out, he was going to send me home. Because of the stroke I had lost use of my right foot. Nurse Amanda overstepped "the doc" & did another ekg which this time showed the afib so they called a ambulance & sent me to Washington Regional . I was there for a week! Thank you "Nurse Amanda" for knowing & doing your job! And for not letting Doc D. Burrow intimidate you! ~E. Burgess~
Went to ER in November. Seen immediately. Drew nurse, Cassietech, and Dr. Bourton all attended to my medical needs. Had kidney stones in both ureters. OOCH! Unable to tolerate strong pain medications. They listened and provided the level of pain relief needed. Thank you to a terrific hospital.
Dr. Parkhurst is a wonderful person! In my emergency he calmed me down and was gentle with my stitches. I am so thankful to the nurses and the EMT's for taking care of me. Thank YOU Dr. Parkhurst for being amazing! Please don't ever lose your wonderful bedside manner! I'm proud to say you are from my town of Longview Tx!
Thank you to Dr. Borton and Nurse Charlotte for the wonderful care I received today. I was visiting from out of town and needed medical care. From the moment I stepped in, to checking out, I received professional, courteous service from all the staff!!
ES HOSPITAL SAVED MY MOM'S LIFE My mother arrived at the ES Hospital with one foot in the grave. She was unconscious and her life was fading away fast. She had seconds left when ER Dr. Parkhurst pulled her away from death's grip. His medical brilliance and quick heroic actions saved her from dying. The highly trained intensive care nurses AND RESPIRATORY THERAPIST JAMES spent the next 5 weeks keeping her alive and getting her on the road to recovery...and back to her home. The ES Hospital Staff was extremely compassionate to my mother, me, and other family members during the ordeal. I am eternally grateful to the ES Hospital -- and God too, of course -- for restoring my mom to me. Many Locals speak ill of our little Historic Hospital. They are dead wrong. Sure, the Hospital is ancient. Their equipment is vintage. BUT IT IS THE PEOPLE THERE THAT SAVE LIVES ... and they really care about saving lives. They treat EACH PERSON as their personal 'rescue' mission. You don't get that kind of high-level personal care from a big city hospital. And special thanks to Catherine Pappas of ES Hospital for strong-arming Medicare into letting my mom have an extra week to recover ... which made a big difference.
