We love this place - the food is always good. We lived in Europe , Germany and visited Austria frequently and the food tastes pretty authentic to us and the service is great. In fact, we understand that the owner is Austrian, not sure if he’s also the chef though. We were there on a Friday and they had a lovely young couple playing German music, which added to the atmosphere and was really nice. The only light critique we’d offer would be that the ventilation is not great there - there’s a good bit of greasy odor in the dining room… but that can be super easily overlooked for the awesome food and nice ambiance! I like their chicken schnitzel and German potato salad, while my husband loves their jaegerschnitzel. The place is favored by locals and regulars and one guy told us he’s been coming there from Maryland. Great place all around. We’ll definitely be back.
Third visit here, and the place is clean, comfortable chairs, they have a local artist are on the walls, ready to buy, which gives it a very nice touch. It’s definitely a family restaurant and it seems wind that is favored by the community because normally it is busy. The food is so fresh, you can feel like you can taste it and it’s really good. We ordered the weinerschnitzel lightly breaded pork with egg noodles and also jaegerschnitzel and sauteed potatoes! Needless to say they were fresh and delicious. The dishes are decent sized and the sauces served were really good. Mine was with a tomato base, my husband’s was heavenly since it had mushrooms and it made the sauce very tasty. This place doesn’t disappoint. Imagine yourself in a bistro in Germany or Belgium eating home made awesome food. A taste of Europe in the DMV. Not pretentious but delicious!
The weinerschnitzel was very satisfactory. Fried to perfection and pork meat tastes great. Good portion too. This is the lunch portion those are a couple of potato pancakes below the two meats.Food: 5/5
Positives: Beautifully decorated and always clean. Love the locally bought art on the walls. We have a regular social group 15+ that eats here every month or so, and the owners keep the restaurant open AFTER HOURS to serve our group personally. We don't stay over to be rude, the owners and our group organizers discussed this, and they offered to do this for us. Talk about above and beyond service! Food is always delicious. Wait staff is attentive and kind. Negatives: Like others have mentioned, this is the thinnest wiener schnitzel I've ever seen. It is three pieces, but even so they are remarkably thin. Potato salad serving was small. Overall taste: 7/10. Four stars. "Great."
Euro Bistro had an Oktoberfest last night that had to be one of the best ever!!! They even brought in a German band that was sooooo great and they’re heading to Germany in 3 weeks to perform at Münich’s Hofbräuhaus. We had soooooo much fun singing and dancing to a point where I’m hoarse now. This night couldn’t have been more perfect. There were lots of beer toasting songs as well to add to the fun. The food served was authentically Austrian — a leek and potato cream soup to start with, 3 different and wonderful German sausages over tender and tasty cabbage, cordon bleu and the best warm cheese strudel with vanilla ice cream and homemade whipped cream.
I had lunch here today and read reviews before I went about "a lot of native German customers so food must be good". As native living in Germany for more than 40 years my opinion about the food is "soso" or in German "na ja". I ordered "Gemischter Salat" or mixed salad. I was baffled when the $6 plate arrived. First, in Germany a Gemischter Salat always has a green salad base accompanied by other salads. Here the green salad was missing, they had arranged few half wilted leaves with no dressing in the middle. The other salads were pickled carrots tasted good but never had pickled carrots in a Gemischter salat before, cucumber ok taste, red cabbage good and German potatoe salad. That one was actually really good, but so few pieces that it was ridicules. Pro-tip: don't arrange tiny amounts of salad on the biggest plate you have. It just looks sad or like left overs. Then i had wiener schnitzel with cream sauce and Spätzle. Technically the Spätzle were Knöpfle, but that is small and not really important detail. The portion was super small, in fact it was less Knöpfle than sauce. The sauce itself was ok, on a positive side it had fresh mushrooms in it, but it had basically no seasoning. On to the Schnitzel. First impression was that it's a lot of meat. 3 pieces. In Germany you usually get 1 max 2 Schnitzel. Real surprise was that each Schnitzel was only 1mm thin. I have never ever in my life seen such thin Schnitzel. In German we would say "ein Hauch von nichts". Again, the meat was not seasoned whatsoever and it was deep fried for too short which resulted in a very pale color. Summary: not sure if i will return
We've never had anything bad here! Friendly service, cozy atmosphere. Not the cheapest place, but well worth it for some real German comfort food.Food: 5/5
Absolutely delicious German comfort food. Plenty of great menu selections will have you coming back again and again. The Japanese selections calamari, potsickers, spring rolls and more are a fresh, delicious, unexpected surprise. The service is usually fairly decent with a cozy ambiance. It's kind of tucked away and looks a bit unassuming from the outside, but definitely give it shot for lunch or dinner. It's 4.5 stars for me.
Outstanding food and great portions. Had the sausage platter, and each was tasty. Buddies had the Jagerschnitzel and Wienerschnitzel, no one left a drop on the plate. Finished off with apple strudel that was delightful.Food: 5/5
This is a simple place with authentic German food and beer. The clientiele are regulars. It is homey and the people develop friendships. Not many German restaurants around. Sometimes you just want German food. The Apple Strudel is a reason to come. I seldom eat dessert but always do so here. The decor is German but not overdone. The food will not disappoint.
