The Scrip program is a fundraiser for Evansville Lutheran School. Buyers can designate their earnings toward the school or toward a student's 8th grade DC trip account. Earnings are 1%-16% of the Scrip card's balance, depending on the business. ELS receives 1% of all purchases, including earnings designated to a student.
So if you want a $25 IGA card, you purchase it for $25. If earnings are designated to a student, ELS earns $.25 and student earns $1. If earnings are designated to ELS, ELS earns the full $1.25.
This is the main fundraiser for the Washington DC trip for 8th graders at ELS and was put into action to avoid many fundraisers to help pay for the trip.
The money raised for ELS will be used for a future building improvement or addition to ELS.
