I have a daughter who started Ezell as a kindergartner and now is beginning her senior year. Her 12 years there have probably been the best educational decision my husband and I made. She has had more opportunities than I believe she could have had at any public school travel abroad, playing varsity sports, attending Girls State, doing mission and service work, etc., and her level of college preparedness is outstanding. I appreciate the focus on academics as well as spiritual growth that this school offers.
As we start our 10th year at Ezell Harding Christian School, my husband and I continue to be thankful that we chose EHCS for our children's educational experience. We have two children at EHCS, one in the high school and one in the middle school, with very different learning styles and each has been challenged academically and helped when needed. We have found the school environment and curriculum to be engaging, supportive and challenging. The small class sizes provide our children with an intimate setting to fully participate and learn in a Christian environment. The faculty and staff are amazing and they know our children individually and care about their academic and spiritual development. Ezell Harding is a truly special place and we could not be happier with our experience there.
Although, the school is low in numbers, Ezell has been a blessing to our family. The size makes for a family-like environment. My son is in his fourth year at Ezell. We moved 2 years ago, and had discussed putting him in one of the several different schools near our home. My son pleaded with us to keep him at Ezell. We now drive close to 45minutes one way and I honestly have never regretted our decision. He looks forward to going to school every single day. Many of the faculty have been there for 20+ years and are dedicated to making their school AND my child the very best that he can be.
I can only give my opinion based on my experience with the school. I homeschooled all my children until high school, at which time we decided they needed some more formal schooling. Ezell-Harding was a very positive experience for all my children. My youngest child deals with high functioning autism, and every effort was made to accommodate his needs. I found the teachers loving and hard working. My children graduated in 2013, 2014, and 2015. All my children scored well on their ACTs, Yes, they give a lot of homework, but they leave well prepared for college. None of my children have had any problems adjusting to college life. In fact, they often remark on their amazement at the ignorance shown by some of their college classmates. My middle child won a full tuition scholarship to the school of her choice. I do not know why enrollment is down, I do not know why some teachers have left; I do know that I am a pushy mom who wasn't afraid to contact a teacher if there was a problem, and I never had one treat me with anything but kindness and respect. I will speak well of the school to anyone who asks because our overall experience has been good.
As a senior, it is hard to believe that I am about to leave this amazing school. Although it is difficult to leave, I am positive that my 13 years here have prepared me greatly for life beyond high school. Not every moment has been perfect, but Ezell-Harding truly exhibits the qualities of a family atmosphere and a loving community. I have enjoyed every year that I have spent at Ezell, and I will miss seeing familiar faces in the hallways everyday.
Ezell Harding is a game-changer! Our daughters benefitted from Ezell’s small classrooms and big family! The teachers from Pre-K through 12th grade really get to know their students…you will see one teacher celebrate a student’s individual accomplishments and another will be reaching out to help a student who is struggling. The academic and athletic opportunities rival those of a much larger public school and the Christian foundation prepares Ezell students for a life of compassion and commitment to God.
Grateful for Ezell Harding Christian School! It's been 9 years and counting. My girls began in Pre-K and will continue their tenure through 12th grade! I encourage prospective parents to prayerfully consider Ezell Harding School as the best choice for their children!
I love Ezell-Harding!! I'm currently a senior, and sadly I will soon be leaving this wonderful campus. I have been here for 13 years, and I can honestly say that I would have never ever wanted to be anywhere else. Sure, this school has had its fair share of rough times, but what establishment doesn't? The number of rough times definitely don't exceed the number of great times!! I am going to be very sad when I have to graduate from this school, but I feel as though I am fully prepared for college and the rest of my life thanks to Ezell-Harding!!!
Our sons attending Ezell Harding Christian School was one of the best educational decisions our family ever made. In fact, both have said that they wouldn’t be the people they are today without the education and Christian influence they found there. What they found there were small classes, a challenging curriculum, and teachers who were invested in their lives. They found opportunities to step out in leadership roles, serve in and minister to the Antioch community, be a part of global mission work through different ministry organizations, and participate in international travel, music, drama, sports, Quiz Bowl, and student government. One of the things we liked about EHCS is that it truly is a college prep school. The faculty thoroughly prepares students for—and expects students to achieve—a higher education. In fact, both of our sons have said that their first year of college English was made so much easier because of the rigorous workout they received in their EHCS English classes. In a large sense, I think both of our boys discovered themselves at EHCS. They found their voices; they realized their strengths. And like “eagles,” they learned to soar. So in a sense, EHCS still influences them today. We feel like that’s a great return on our tuition investment.
I gave two stars based on the fact my daughter loved Chapel. Unfortunately, I can not leave a good review based on poor performance from teachers and a lying elementary principal. My child was apart of "Stepping Stones" program for two years. We had a good experience the first year but the second year was horrible. My child's teacher did not teach the basics that a preschooler should learn: days of the week, months of the year, phonics, and site words. When I expressed my concerns with the elementary principal, he down played my concerns and lied to me. I knew then I did not want my child to be apart of this school. The school needs to reevaluate the elementary principal and make sure that all teaching staff are on the same level. There shouldn't be any concerns about receiving a "bad teacher" at a private school.
