Beautiful piece of history right is our backyard of Glendora! I did my Eagle project here replacing the 24 veteran crosses with white concrete ones several years to give this place some new life and appreciation. We all have a duty to keep up the maintenance of this place and keep the spirit and history of this place alive!
If you are interested in getting into the cemetery, you will not be able to. Some descriptions say there is a small opening for people to walk through right by the gate but this is outdated information. There is a new gate and fence surrounding the whole cemetery. Wonderful place though! Would be amazing to be able to go in and view the graves.
Awesome piece of local history right in our own backyard. Well kept secret for years whist is good keeps ass holes from vandalizing the place. Can spend hours in here reading the grave stones and admiring the scenery. Recently a large fence was placed around which is a good thing keeps all the Riff Raff out
Suburbia has reached the gates of this beautiful little Pioneer Cemetery. it's a shame because it has been forgotten and will now be completely forgotten I'm afraid. The gates are locked no one around to let you in. I would have loved to gone in and cut weeds and help to maintain this little place such a shame , beautiful trees weeds all around though but the birds are happy and the memories are still there
Lots of very old folks buried here, new cemetary parking lot and surroundings look great
A pioneer cemetery dating back to the early 1800s. It is in need of maintenance, but there are annual Memorial Day ceremonies. Due to housing construction surrounding the cemetery, it is difficult to get close to the gate, and even if one could get to the gate, it is locked expect for special events, ut it is worth the hike up to it as there are plenty of interesting tombstones and grave markers visible from the fence.
I grew up less than a quarter mile from the cemetary on milton dr and spent many hours walking among the head stones and reading the dates on them and as kids it seemed so long ago ,and remember even children's graves ,this was in the early 60s and dont every remember seeing any grave robbing or vandalism, just an old man that would visit the cemetery, and tell us to watch out for rattlers.
Would love to go in to take flowers... Dang it it's never unlocked. History being wasted , they should open it more often.
So many improvements by Lyons Homes and Glendora & Azusa volunteers
If you know local history, and the gate is open, you will see some names you recognize. Mostly the gate is locked these days.
