The FCCSP provides bilingual, culturally competent mental health counseling to the community, and supervision & training to therapist candidates.
Our focus is about the people we strive to help. Children, parents, caregivers (including grandparents raising their grandkids), adults, the elderly, and families.
The Family Counseling Center of St. Paul's (FCCSP) is a human services organization serving a mainly Hispanic and impoverished community in Wilmington, Delaware.
Our mission is to provide affordable, accessible, intimate, and compassionate care through our bilingual, culturally competent mental and behavioral health counselors, parenting skills trainers, and training to teachers at area schools.
Our vision is to help close the gap between those with insurance and those without, while diminishing the inequality in access and affordability for the people we serve.
FCCSP's continuum of care consists of three program components:
1) Providing accessible & affordable bilingual, culturally competent counseling
2) Teaching critical parenting skills
3) Training teachers to integrate the 'Healing with Love' model as a part of their school classroom curriculum.
Combined, these program components have a direct and long-lasting impact on children, adults, and families challenged with mental and/or behavioral health issues; parents/caregivers who realize the importance of being a solid, caring & loving role-model; and, teachers/educators who understand that outside the family, they are the single most important person and the ‘conduit’ for these children.
What makes the Family Counseling Center relevant in the community and a solid investment?
• Accessibility, affordability, and flexibility. Located in the heart of the community we serve,
we offer a sliding fee scale and we accommodate our clients' specific needs and circumstances.
• Bi-lingual, culturally competent services delivered by our well-trained, qualified staff. Our clients place their trust in our team's capabilities and relationship-based approach.
• Compassionate direct care based on the 'Healing with Love' approach - a holistic, cost-efficient, and replicable model integrated into our counseling, parenting skills, and teacher training program components.
