I started my insurance practice in January of 2008. Farmers Insurance Group gave me an opportunity to “fire the boss” and I decided to take a leap of faith with their partnership. The value I found in this organization and my small business opportunity, of owning an insurance agency, was based on a few components that all successful start-up businesses need: financial support (in the form of subsidized income for operational expenses, product training that provided a value proposition, business support in the form of wholesalers from the company side, and a mentor program from a District Manager/Coach along with experienced Agency Operators. For nearly seven years I worked to build a successful insurance practice and what I found was this business was no different than most. It required simple metrics, business processes, and systems that would generate sustainable production that equated to growth. During the last few years as an Agency Operator I became part of the “less than 1% - Elite Agents” within the organization. My life changed from working in a business to working as a mentor. The more people I mentored the bigger impact I made and it made me embrace the idea of doing something for the greater good for all. I took on the challenge of becoming a District Manager. This is not so much a role to “manage”, but rather to inspire, motivate, and to develop the future generations of Agency Operators. I have the privilege of serving business owners by bringing business and product experience to their small business operations.
