My dog and I only walk a couple sections but those are mostly clean; and very well maintained. We see lots of other walkers, cyclists, runners, etc. Since we are close to Science Park, there are multiple blue emergency call for help safety poles not sure of the proper description or name. They make me feel safe; we walk different times a day, sometimes early morning and sometimes in the evening. Always enjoy it. Definitely something to check out for bother resident and tourists!
It is a very long walking-trekking- biking road starting from New Haven. Generally the areas close to the downtown are a bit scattered but after a few miles it is very beautiful and excellent place for walking and sports. It is very long so it is also good for biking. I didn't see the end of the road yet but will definitely see it in the future.
This trail is fantastic. It is my favorite trail for length. It is also really beautiful, yet you have access to several towns and urban centers from the trail. There are parking nodes with restrooms that are well-kept, and it is generally well-tended.
Heard Jazz & Caribbean music playing. Stopped to listen, purchased a painting from Ms Zona. All unexpected but a nice surprise, every Saturday 1- 4 in August.
Great trail for walking, biking, running. Not finished all the way to MA though.
A unique place with a view of the Quinnipiac River. So few places you can enjoy a beer and some food in New Haven on the water but this is one of them. The place is staffed it seems primarily with people connected to all the boats docked around. This gives it some quirky personality. You also get a real sense that people are proud of what they're doing there and they take care of you. They're large outdoor area where they have plans to show movies and host community gatherings. This is a casual community place not fancy upscale waterfront dining. You can also rent kayaks from the neighboring Marina so I could see this being a good place for a date where you rent a kayak and come rack and have a meal overlooking the river.
Awesome. Well maintained. Gorgeous, smooth. Someone should tell the jerk on the dirt bike doing 30mph about the no motorized vehicles rule though :
The crown jewel of the multi-use trail network in southern New England, it connects an astounding number of scenic areas, historic districts, breweries, farms, museums and other attractions across a dozen different towns from New Haven to the Massachusetts border.
Nice walk area., but all the emergency boxes are out of order. Vandals perhaps, but they should be inspected and repaired or removed entirely. Gives a feeling of being unsafe . Looks like they've been that way for awhile. Newhallville area.
Great bike path. Ride from New haven to Cheshire. Continues even further but all sections aren't connected. Hopefully they will be someday. Good bird watching also.
