First time visiting a Fatz Cafe and unfortunately I won't be recommending this location in my review. The restaurant was not busy but they had plenty of customers. I had a seat at the bar because being just me, I don't need a table or booth when dining out at a restaurant with bar seating. All the staff was pleasant and friendly, no issues with hospitality. Browsed the menu and decided on Carolina Ribs and Bash 1lb ribs, chicken tenders and baked beans and placed my order with the bartender while even pointing at my selection on the menu. What she actually put in for my order was the Carolina Plate 1/2lb ribs, BBQ pulled pork, BBQ chicken breast and mashed potatoes. When I got my food I knew it wasn't correct BUT being a new restaurant to me, I figured I'd try the food without making the mistake known to the bartender. First of all, the "BBQ pulled pork looked like tuna fish salad. When I say that the meat is highly mechanically processed, I mean it. The BBQ chicken breast is 100% a frozen chicken breast that was cooked with steam on a grill top because you couldn't even cut it with a steak knife. The chicken tore apart trying to cut it and was very tough. The ribs were good and the meat does fall off the bone easily. So in a nutshell, ribs are a yes but BBQ pork and BBQ chicken breast are both solid NO. In hindsight, I think I should have mentioned the mistake on my order and had the chicken tenders and ribs.
Really good food. Hadn't eat here in a while. But you can tell they have improved a lot. Our food was great.
Merely passable. Not great, not terrible. The prices are quite hefty, considering what you get. For example, the Calabash Chicken & Shrimp pictured below was $14.99. The taste is tolerable, but nothing that was impressive. Also, it is recommended to not order a mixed drink. You will be disappointed. On the flip side, our server was excellent.
One word for Fatz is “yummmyyyy”,between the juicy steak or the blue ridge chicken with poppy bread is “mwahhh, chefs kiss!” Enjoyed eating here, with great food and excellent management. Loved the food and meeting the manager Faud, I love seeing a manager interacting with tables to make sure my experience is memorable! 10/10
Awesome food and service. Our waitress Kenzie was great!!!! Fast friendly service, very attentive. Food was hot and yummy. Wings and porkchops cooked to perfection.Food: 5/5
Last visit to this location was 2019 and it was horrible. This evening they were on point! Food was fantastic and Patricia was on her job and made sure we had everything we needed without even having to ask. We will definitely be back.
The food was amazing we had a double Stack cheeseburger and calabash chicken. Loved it! The manager Faud is always so nice and personable. He makes us feel like family. Ashley was our waitress, talk about a sweet girl! She made sure everything was spot on! We also had a very nice young man help us too. After a long day, Devyn serves a great Margherita. I recommend FATZ 100%.
Server was friendly and attentive. Food was delicious. Manager was also very present and friendly. Some of my favorites there are ribs which are tender and tasty, the steak I ordered was cooked perfectly and was very flavorful, and the grilled pork chops are also delicious. We had not been to Fatz in several years and recently tried it again and it was great service, great food, and great management. We will be back!
The food was good! Give thanks to the Back of House! But the service was just as good! I happened to go when it wasn't super busy, must have been a slow day. That being said, my girlfriend and I chatted with a server, Marcus, for a good while and I got a good meal and a new friend!
Fatz Cafe in Elizabethton is THE place to get good-quality food. Better food than Cheddars, Applebees, or Chili’s. Also the staff are attentive, friendly, and genuinely helpful. Our a server was Bailey, and she helped me pick out what I wanted one day because I couldn’t decide. She knew the entire menu from memory, and gave details about the sides. Very cool, and helpful! If you need food in Elizabethton, don’t skip Fatz!
