Filly's Roadhouse

About

Filly’s has so much to offer…… Spectacular Views, Yummy food and Continuous Entertainment.

Description

The magical view of the mysterious Superstition Mountains right behind us will take your breath away. The cowboys are real and plentiful. I for one never get tired of watching them ride up on their favorite steed ready for a cold one and some of our famous Filly’s lip smackin' grub.

I use to work at filly's..the Chicken recipe is..KFC..they would just shake it in a BBQ sauce u want with some buttermilk hidden valley ranch to dip in...... They didn't even know that it was KFC recipe...I told the prep cook the first day I was there . and the owner heard an said no it wasn't...and he didn't know.. I new that they were not the OG Owner. that the recipe came from a cook at Arizona Joe's restaurant in Apache junction...in the 90s..they took All the cooks recipes..from Az Joe's restaurant....And the Grand Hotel's steak house.. along with a few others....like..Cobs.. hacker's..
Some reviews rail about the poor service or food. My take is try it! We've been there twice during busy Sundays and loved it. Music was good, two different bands, the dancing was awesome both for my wife and I, AND for cowboy/cowgirl watching and we loved the wings and their hog wings my fav. Its a busy place though!!
I'd have to say the wings we're absolutely fantastic. Everything was hot and delicious. But we sat outside and our waitress was probably one of the worst waitresses I've ever had in a long time. Our waitress name was Kim and she seemed more concerned about texting in the corner then bringing are drinks. Usually it took between 30 and 45 minutes of course she would bring us are drinks. There were four couples in our group and the bill was totally messed up. When asked her about items on the menu she rolled her eyes and could care less. Overall I think the place is pretty good but their staff definitely needs training. I'm not sure if I would go back even though the wings are probably the best I've had in the valley.
We came here after a long, grueling hike up Flat Iron. This place was an oasis in the desert. Service was quick. Food was great. The live band on a Sunday afternoon was fantastic. People started dancing. They called out the Michiganders in the room, a few of us were, they immediately welcomed us and started up a chat. Gotta love your friendly Michigander neighbor! Hands down would come back again! Also, the stage theme is so cool and classy! Only con is they didn't have milkshakes! Haha.
Awesome broasted chicken at Filly's Roadhouse! We were there on the Sunday night and the live band made it a fun and festive Outdoor Experience. They had their very large outdoor patio open and the Sunset provided us a beautiful view of the Superstition Mountains right from our picnic bench. Our broasted chicken was served hot and very crispy, the cornbread was sweet and warm, and the coleslaw and potato salad we had were served nice and cold. Everybody was friendly and welcoming and lots of folks enjoyed the large dance area in front of the live band.
This place is a hoot! Great wings, and don't miss the "hog wings!" We got there at 11ish on a Sunday and got a table right away, but it fills up quickly and had we waited to long we might never have gotten seated. We say outside so we could listen to the band, look at the mountains, and see the horses with their riders come in. If you are in Phoenix, this is a place not to miss!
The best. Western setting with a beautiful view of the Superstitious Mountain. Live music and dancing in the bar. I will for sure be back.
Food was amazing wilth great service It was an experience..there were real life cowboys who road in on horses.the mountain back setting with a beautiful sun set was breath taking
It did take an hour and 20 minutes to get our food but the atmosphere, food and music was great
FILLY'S ROADHOUSE...Be sure to check the fine print near beginning of each review as to how OLD each review is...But as of DEC 5 2021, Filly's is CLOSED and phone number is NO LONGER IN SERVICE. Call ahead before going . Be a shame to arrive with friends only to find totally shuttered .
