After reading so many high-scoring reviews, I had to question whether or I not I went to the right place. But, I am certain I visited Fintastik at 210 G Street in Antioch and was hugely disappointed. I really favor supporting local businesses over chains. The man behind the counter, whom I assume was the owner mentioned in other posts, wanted to help, but there was absolutely nothing here that I needed or wanted. He has a very poor selection of fish and, at least in some tanks, fish appeared unhealthy. At least two tanks had dead fish in them--in one, the remaining fish were feeding on the carcass--I know this happens in nature, but it's not something I want to see in a pet store. The store seems to have several breeding tanks, and if that's how he's able to pay his rent and make his money, that's great. I just don't see how the average aquarium or pond keeper can get their needs met here.
Super neat aquarium, super nice owner who runs the shop, he does a great job of helping out! I bought a flowerhorn from here recently and he's looking great, and very healthy. Very convenient location in your in the Antioch area like myself!
I bought fish four 5 of my aquariums and my boyfriend's tank. They are all healthy, happy fish. I am going back to purchase some black veil angel fish now that they are getting big enough to be with my existing angels.
Super nice man. He's had this store for 12 years. I never knew he was there. He has Angel fish and Guppy's and some other fish. He also will put a logo or favorite photo on a cup or shirt. Give him a try. Big sense of humor as well. Thank you!
Support your local mom and pop businesses instead of the big box stores. Didn't really needed anything but decided to drop in for a visit. Left with a couple of SAE and accessories. Decent selection of fish available and some hard to find ones that the big box stores don't carry. Friendly staff.
Ergonomic and the staff is friendly. This business is great for those interested in building or restoring aquatic life.
Rick has been breeding amazing angelfish and discus for decades. His advice is always the best and he really cares about the well being of the fish and that his customers get the knowledge they need to keep the fish healthy. He is willing to place special orders and has a great selection of frozen fish food. Love this store.
Owner here was wonderful taught me and my daughter things about fish that we never knew I really appreciate the customer service is and all of the information he gave me and my daughter regarding fish and how to care for them as a beginner
Richard was super friendly and knowledgeable when we came in. He gave us a tour of the shop and then left us to explore and admire the different species he had stocked. When it came to choosing our fish, he let us pick the exact ones we wanted, even in the busy guppy tank. I will definitely be returning here when we begin work on our next aquarium.
Rick was very helpful,, he has been doing this now over 40 years. He knows alot of the business. I did buy some fish and they are great been almost a month now. Thank you Rick for all your help.
