Located in the center of Olde Hilliard at the corner of Center St. and Main St., First Responders Park is local monument built for a national impact. The park contains original artifacts from sites in New York City including a portion of subway rail and twisted beams of steel from ground zero. Central to the design are two artistic pieces meant for impact: a memorial wall listing the names of first responders who lost their lives at the scene and a breathtaking sculpture meant to represent the lives affected by that day. The park is meant to be a place to remember, to visit, and to mourn as well as to be a public show of appreciation for all those who give their lives to protect those in their community.
