It was a great small motel and I loved staying there I got sleep after being on the road for a long time then relaxedRooms: 5/5
Ok. The Bad: The room was not good. Stained furniture. Hard, slanted bed was not made for sleeping. Loud music from other guests after midnight. Felt kinda unsafe. The AMAZING: We left a very important bag with my husband's medicines in the room. We realized it HOURS later. Drove back with little to no hope of finding it. But Laine their maid, had found it and kept it safe for us. She was going to take it to the office after cleaning our room, which she was doing when we pulled back up. Honestly, she's worth 10 stars all by herself. The rest of the place, not so much.
Great price rooms r good also depends on wat ur using it for.Rooms: 5/5
Once again I had to return to Delaware for business but it was a pleasure also to return to the First State Inn. The staff had my room very clean and kindly received me after hours. Thanking them and shall return very soon. I think this a WISE option for those looking to spend some time in at the Delaware beaches without spending a fortune at this no frillshotel let's you use your money to do other things, especially in these economic times.
I had a nice big room with a king size mattress and a microwave and refrigerator furnishings are a little dated but it was clean and everything worked well was located near everything I was going to so it worked out very well for me
I've never really had any issues staying at First State Inn. Its not overly expensive, they have smoking and non smoking. They do wash the sheets and I'm hoping they also wash the bedspread. Some rooms have microwaves but they all have Mini frigerators. You can ask for cleaning spray if you want to re clean the tub or counters or anything. There's a 24-hour McDonald's next door and a Wendy's / gas station on the other side. Overall it's a decent place
The Room was clean .The help was friendly. The Owner offered a weekly rate on the phone of 580 . but I paid 180 sat. 180 sun 120 Monday .and didn't give me Wyndham points . Its not a 180 or a 120 dollar a night hotel . And there was no breakfast gym swimming pool or laundry .
I called to book a room and after 3 calls A man answers. I inquire pricing for a room, he ignores the question and asks me if I want a room with 1 or 2 beds. My response was two beds. The manager answers with " I'm sorry we never had 2 beds here." Then hangs up. I call back 2 more times and no answer. Poor poor place to come to.Rooms: 1/5
I have a room booked for the Dover races. No fans are allowed to attend the race and I have tried to call and cancel my reservation more than 15 times over the last 3 weeks and nobody answers the phone. I am calling the number listed online. I better not be charged for the room.
I was not able to actually go to this hotel because of the corona virus BUT the management was extremely helpful in making sure I got my money back. Originally, Expedia was denying me a refund but First State Inn was super understanding of the situation and helped me with the refund! Super nice people!
