Great restaurant for lobster and crab lovers. The food was delicious and was prepared quite fast. The service was acceptable. The staff could be friendlier, but they were efficient in arranging our food at the centre and even packaged our food for us for takeout. The lobster and crab are quite pricey but it’s what you would expect from a restaurant specializing in those. There is sufficient free parking outside.
The lobster mountain signature dish is their must have. I had it in May and keep thinking about it and had to came back to have it again. The lobster are super fresh and the fries are very yummy too. If you pick one of the seafood meal in the menu, the price is reasonable. We had the meal package including lobster mountain, stream crab with wine sauce, stream fish, and snow pea leafs with garlic sauce. All the seafood are very fresh and cooked to perfection. Make sure to make reservations, the wait is long even on a weekday. This place is very popular amount Chinese and a must-go place in Toronto.
I have gone to this restaurant for many years — in fact, every time I am in town, I make a point to visit. The seafood here is fresh, so fresh that they bring it out to you for your examination, to take photos if you'd like, and to tell you the weight and pricing. The food is usually well flavored, but like other reviewers have said, I think the quality of the cooking has gone down. The crab in egg white is near flavorless. The lobster tower now comes with fries that err on the side of too greasy, whereas before, it was salty egg yolk with little fried bits and tiny fried sardines, which were very tasty. The fried rice is not as fragrant as it used to be. Though the suace tower of crab is still fairly good. I also like the soup they serve. The vegetable dish is slightly undercooked and not as flavorful as before. I would say if you never had the standard of the old food, this is all still good, but ultimately, I am disappointed for the price point. Some positives is that the food is still in very large portions, though prices have gone up. The staff is also helpful, swapping out new plates and checking on orders when they stalled. I would say it is a good try if you've never been, but I do not know if I would return.
It’s a destination worth seeking out when visiting the Toronto area. The restaurant has ample parking and the interior is spacious, which is great for large groups and those with mobility issues. Service is overall attentive and the wall to wall crab and lobster tanks are an impressive sight! The main thing to try is the lobster tower. The first time we went, the dish included little fried fish and fries with the lobster. The second time we went, the little fish were missing! If you get it, ask if they can include that, it’s so good!
Absolutely incredible place! The atmosphere is amazing, the concept is unique and the food is outstanding! First place your order. Then your live seafood is brought out for you so that you can inspect it. Then its cooked to perfection. Obviously its an expensive place but definitely well worth it!! We got the Lobster tower and do not regret it one bit. My self and two friends ate like kings and had plenty of leftovers. Definitely prepare yourself before coming here and loosen that waistband when you sit down because you'll need the extra room!! Definitely a once in a while treat, but will for sure be back!!
It was our first time here and it didn't disappoint me. We drove 1 hour to this place, and the food was amazing. It's totally worth the drive. The lobster dish was out of this world. The presentation was very inviting and beautiful.Food: 5/5
This place is the very reason I wanted to visit Toronto. I’ve heard so much about it and have seen many pictures/videos of my friends eating the famous lobster tower. I’m so glad I was finally able to try it! If you like seafood, you’ll definitely love it here. We ordered the steamed king crab & lobster mountain dinner. It came with soup, 6 lbs of steamed king crab although we got 7lbs since they didn’t have any left that were just 6 lbs that night, 10 lbs of fried lobster 10!!, fried bass, a plate of some vegetables, dessert, and a bottle of white wine. Didn’t really need the wine, but whatever. It came with the combo. I didn’t have the veggies, but the rest of the food was so good! The chunks of lobster were so big, and the crab was nicely cut up and sliced for you for easy eating. You know the seafood is fresh because they bring out your live crab and lobster for you to see and take pictures with if you’d like before they cook them up in the back! Everything came out pretty quick too for the amount of food we got and how busy they were. I was impressed. We had 7 people in our group. The amount of food we got with this particular combo was more than enough. I’m actually surprised we devoured it all. You can definitely order smaller combos if going with a smaller group. The food was definitely worth the money. I wish we had a place like this where I live because I would definitely be back.
Although bustling, the restaurant's service was quite satisfactory, though they may wish to consider hiring more staff. Unfortunately, the quality of the food has declined from previous experiences. On the bright side, the pricing is very affordable, but patrons should note that they only accept cash and debit payments, with a fixed 12% tip included.
Let me start off by saying that this is not a cheap restaurant. It cost same or even more than some fancy french cuisine that you can find downtown. As a frame of reference, our meal cost about $130 per person. Taste: Food are super fresh, and the way they prepare the lobster and crab legs are really good! Very tasty and full of flavour. But that was the extend of the tasty food. The other dishes all lacked in flavour, perhaps is to preserve the taste of fresh seafood, but a small pinch of salt in the fried rice or the veggies wouldn't hurt. Quality: Once again, freshest seafood you can find! But the fried rice is... lacking. It says crab fried rice, but despite my best efforts, the only indication of crab is the shell that's on top, and it's been picked clean like by a gang of mice, there are no meat left! Like where has it all gone? The fried rice had 0 crab taste. Now the lobster tower, it was garnished with deep fired fishes before, now it's just fries... And the price has gone up. I understand that there is inflation, but there are some limits... Price: So from their menu, all their seafood have a weight, and if your is heavier, they will charge you accordingly. And big surprise, your seafood will ALWAYS be heavier than what's advertised, so you will always end up paying more than the menu price. In our case, we paid an extra of $150 for the crab and lobster on a $300 menu. So will I come back? Maybe if I'm craving for some super fresh seafood, but I would think hard before making the decision... Should you go? If you have never been, a good experience for sure!
Nice Cantonese seafood restaurant, great value on combo option. We loved the Lobster Mountain in Honk Kong style, chicken soup taste good. Never get wrong with Fishman LobsterFood: 5/5
