Prices are very high if you compare it to other halwa puri restaurants however if you look at the taste their halwa puri deserve 5 out of 5. I had also ordered naan and nihari. We didn't like the nihari at all. Naan was good as you would expect in Pakistan. One naan cost you 4 dollars which I also find very unreasonable. Must give their halwa puri a try.. I gave them four stars because of tasteless nihari.
The food was very bland and portions were small. Service was okay... nothing outstanding. Definitely not coming back after my experience. The Chana masala and paneer Tikka masala was probably one of the worst I've tried. The butter chicken and chicken Tikka bbq was definitely the worst I've had. The only good dish I had was the garlic Naan. I'm hoping this review promotes better food in the future.
My first time at this place. I was really craving some Paya and Tondoori chicken. Paya was good in flavor but very gelatinous. I think it was cooked in the morning and by reheating it got thick. Veggie samosa were not that great.Tondoori chicken was good. My son got the butter chicken. He enjoyed it but did complain about the chicken texture. Naans were amazing! Will be back to try other dishes next time.
I had gone to Nirala for lunch with friends. the food was very tasty .the Lamp biryani was different taste.but good. every one might not like it . other food items were amazing tasty .Food: 5/5
They got different rates if you dine-in, so we take away the order. The Channa masala was really spicy and after only an hour of this lunch I started to have headache. I won't be going back at all.Food: 3/5
Halwa, Poori and chana were excellent! Wish they had Aloo as well. Paya was not tender enough but the taste of gravy was perfect! Chai was OK. Recommended for friends and families.
This place is known for serving super greasy yet yummy "halwa puri". The tea was just about average. One star stolen because of a takeout order Nihari which restaurant conveniently effed up for me. It was an absolute disaster.
Mid morning sun shining through the jaffery wood paneling on table 3 takes you back centuries n makes you think this must have felt like during the breakfast in the mugal time. Great, great food great, great ambiance plus great service. Highly recommended! we order haleem with butter naan n breakfast thali with halwa puri channa n finaly with dhood pati was divine
I recently visited Nirala Restaurant, and unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. The food was average in taste, and considering the prices, I expected much better. In particular, the halwa puri dish did not live up to its cost. It lacked flavor and didn't justify the amount I paid for it. The thali on which the halwa puri was served was unstable, constantly moving and making it difficult for us to enjoy our meal comfortably. We politely requested that they replace it with a stable thali, but they chose to ignore our concerns. This lack of attention and unwillingness to accommodate our simple request reflected poorly on their customer service.
I have to start by saying that we were really disappointed in the plates the food came on. It was little ikea white home plates and bowls. It wasnt practical to be taking food out of and it just looked like you were sitting at home with a regular plate. Not appealing at all. The lamb karahi was not it at all! I am 99.9% sure that wasn’t even lamb, definitely was a different type of meat. It was not good. The masala also had a sweet taste to it which was weird. The chicken kabobs were also not good. Had a weird taste to them. For dessert, we decided to get kulfis. The kulfi was not it either. Overall it’s a nice place, gets really busy in the evening but the food was not the best. Glad we tried it, but won’t be coming back here
