After passing up this store for the bigger more well known box stores and coming out empty handed several times, we finally decided to check 5 Star Furniture out after noting several 5 star reviews. Upon walking in, I was a little underwhelmed and not impressed initially as I walked in because everything was so tightly fit. Josef introduced himself but did not push himself, allowing us to take our time and notice things I overlooked initially. I came in looking for a couple accent chairs but I left happily with the purchase of a beautiful dining room table, chairs to compliment and a media hutch. These items are solidly made which is difficult to find at these price points. I was so happy not to end up with Ikea cheap furniture. To top it all off, Josef also came and hand delivered the furniture in person at my home himself and I noticed he inspected both items to make sure drawers were working properly and surfaces were not scratched. I'm already looking forward to doing business with him again to support his small local business and his excellent customer service. Worth checking out and taking your time and chatting with Josef in the store if you're looking for quality solid furniture without spending a fortune. Thank you!
One of the Salesman named Gabriel was extraordinary nice to me and my husband. He had a lot of patience with us as we made our choice of furniture. Such a kind, sweetheart of a person. I will be going back for other purchases and asking for Gabriel for his help. So if there's anyone out there searching for furniture, go to Five Star, in Merrillville next door to Target, on US 30.
We had a great experience at this store. Josef is very helpful and knowledgeable. He knows when to leave you alone to shop and when to offer help and information. We bought 2 full-size sofas that were custom made for us. They are perfect! Josef even delivered them himself. We will definitely be going to Five Star whenever we need furniture!
I just want to say that I had a wonderful experience with this store and Josef in particular. I have to admit I was very skeptical at first because they were such a small store and did not have much to look at physically. I explained to Josef I need to purchase a new bed and was not sure what I wanted, but I needed it to match with my existing furniture if possible. He showed me some catalogs and assured me that he would give me the best price. I did see a couple that looked promising, but I wanted to see it and feel it. He recommended for me to go to other furniture stores and look at them and price them out and tell him what it was that I wanted and he would most likely be able to get it and at a much lower cost. So I went to five other big furniture stores and found an upholstered bed that I liked. I texted him the pictures and he sent me a picture back of a bed I liked better and it was almost $500.00 cheaper. Josef offered free shipping to my front door and worked with my husbands schedule. Did I mention, Josef is the person who delivers the furniture himself? He does it all! He gave my husband some tips on the easiest way to assemble the bed so we put the bed together last night and it is beautiful. I will post a picture later. I 100% recommend 5 Star Furniture over any big store any day. Thank you Josef for all your help.
My beautiful sectional was delivered yesterday and I am beyond amazed at how it turned out. The entire process, from flipping through swatches and choosing down filled vs just memory foam was so easy with Joseph’s expertise. This was definatly worth the wait! We LOVE it! Joseph @ Five Star Furniture has customers for life!! We have already referred several friends!!!
Joe with 5 Star Furniture is phenomenal! I furnished my entire home through 5 Star and Joe was so patient through the entire process. I went to the Big Box stores and Joe not only had better service, but also better prices. I appreciate all your help Joe, finding all our furniture sets, and for the great service!!
Sales rep made our purchase quick & easy. 3 man crew set up our sectional & dining table in about 30mins. They were all very respectful & courtesy. I would buy from 5 Star again!!!
Awesome Styles.... friendly personal service.... the couch I was looking at I could get in 500 fabrics and it was made locally in Sacramento!
This furniture store is amazing with unique and trendy styles!! The owner is very knowledge and genuinely care. I can't say enough of this store. Support small local businesses I promise you will not regret it.
Nice people and they have lots of catalogs you can order from if you don't see what you want!
