Since 1927
In 1927, J. Kelly Floyd founded Floyd Funeral Home at the old location of Magnolia Street in Olanta. He and his wife, Colene Ham Floyd, operated the funeral home for many years when their son, James Kelton Floyd began working at the funeral home at an early age and graduated from Cincinati College of Mortuary Science in 1955. He married Jimlyn "Jeekie" Calder in 1955, and she also became a licensed funeral director.
James Kelton Floyd took over full time management in 1970 after the death of his father, J. Kelly Floyd, he managed the facility until illness forced him to retire in 2015, and he died in August of 2017. Donn Kell Floyd, began the third generation of Floyd Funeral Home at an early age and graduated from Gupton Jones College of Mortuary Science in 1977,
Kell assumed management of Floyd Funeral Home in 2015 and continues to provide the same compassionate service that we have been giving for the past 90 years.
Kimberly Floyd McKenzie, daughter of Kell and Connie Evans Floyd, began working as a fourth generation of the Floyd family in June of 1998, and is active in the management of Floyd Funeral Home. She has two daughters, Gabriella "Gabby" Elizabeth and Leah Grace.
Floyd Funeral Home built a new modern facility, located at 136 East Main Street in Olanta, in 1988 and continues to provide a friendly, family atmosphere as we have for the past nine decades.
