Once again another pilot that only cares about the almighty dollar. They only care about separating the dollars from the truck drivers pocket. They don't care about disabilities or if you're a veteran. Just get your money out so they can take it because that's all they want
Showers were ok, 4 dryers out of order, 2 washers out of order. Dryer #10 don't dry at all! Ridiculous! Clothes are still damp after an hr of dryer time. Card readers don't work. Is it too much to ask for to come in & not have issues getting simple chores done? Homeless people lurking everywhere. Some real mgt needs to come in & straighten this place out.
Large parking lot. Plenty of places for the furries to relieve themselves. I love the design of the showers here! The hooks are installed where they're helpful and the shower isn't wide opened so that if someone were to open the door accidentally, you wouldn't be just staring at them buck naked. It's mid May and hot today but snow and 40+ mph winds are expected tonight and tomorrow. Bring summer and Winter apparel along with you at all times.
Overall it's a cool place. I love there's a single woman's restroom in the driver's lounge. Yes it it always busy here, but that's why we are supposed to be planning our trips. I love that night security actually gets illegally parked drivers to move. No one should be complaining about being asked to move, if you had done your planning correctly. I've seen it far too many times that alot of drivers just park anywhere without even taking into consideration everyone else in the parking lot. We still need to maneuver around the lot and/or park, and this is incredibly difficult because some drivers decide to just park and block the way. I think its great that there is security here that is willing to, and determined to keep order in such a disorderly situation. Thank you night security!!
After 4 hours the old lady security comes and tells me I have to leave I'm parked illegally. I talked to the store MGR. He told me I have to leave if she said so. The first thing the security lady asked was to see my parking certificate. I said I don't have one it's not a space. She said I had to move then because someone else was waiting for it. I said it's not a space marked for parking or reserved. She said we consider it a space. So it basically came down to if I paid for it I could have stayed there.
The showers were great. Good water pressure, and nice hot temperature. It's a good location with good staff, however due to how insanely busy it is here, this is one of the most stressful places to try and park at 100%. If you can keep a cool head and not hit anyone or try to fight anyone then by all means try to park here. Don't think for a second you will avoid the rush by coming early. It's a cluster @@@@ at 10am on a Wednesday. Honestly, you 'Create-A-Space' drivers make the situation worse for everyone. If there's not a legitimate parking space, then move on and go somewhere else. It's your own fault if there's no spaces left or you can't manage your hours. You make it dangerous for everyone else who is parked legally and/or paid for a parking space because you're in the way and now we can't leave or park because you're in the way farting around. Props to the flying J staff for actually enforcing the no parking areas and frequently telling these guys to leave. Unfortunately, you almost need to be posted 24/7 because once one trucker leaves another one gets the bright idea to park there and block everyone.
What kind of ridiculous 24-hour travel center tells you you can't rest in the parking lot overnight! That's what a travel center is for! I bought gas, breakfast, coffee on and on. Now they're saying that you can't park here. Doesn't make any sense. Owners please fix! If you have a problem with the homeless. Talk to your city about creating a new ordinance and don't punish your customers for it. Just ridiculous.
Parking lot is way to small and is always full no matter what time it is. The shower room had no toilet paper and the hooks to hang your stuff were broken. Store is dirty and the cashiers were all busy talking to themselves to acknowledge customers. Fuel island was a mess, 3 of the pumps weren’t working. Avoid if possible.
Really gross store! I would not come here, except for my company requires me to. Mobile pay never works. Homeless people always sitting outside! Broken down trucks and trailers in the lot. Employees are always rude and complaining about management. Don’t even try to find a parking spot here unless you get here like at 6 o’clock in the morning after the other truckers leave but but the lot is used for locals to park.
This review will be mainly for truck drivers. From my experience and reading other reviews, be aware of the security guards that they hire at this specific location. Our company uses Flying J/Pilot 95% of the time for fueling. This location in particular grants their security guards the power to kick you off their parking lot. The parking arrangements at this location is famous for being congested and unsafe. Their reserve parking is not clearly marked reserved. So I thought I was parked in a nonreserved spot as I saw no sign displaying reserved and it was far away from the main entrance of the building. Later that evening, a security guard approached my truck and stated, this is a reserved spot, do I have a parking permit? I stated that there is nothing displaying that I am in a reserved spot. He takes a photo to show me. In the photo, the markings are so faded, you barely can see it. I would be more than delighted to pay for the parking spot, but all was sold out. The security guard suggest that I drive off the lot and park in an off-site location. Unfortunately, I couldn't do that because I had no hours to drive the truck. So the security guard basically said if I don't he will contact the highway patrol and have me removed from the parking lot. This security guard stated that this was his property. Once again, I explained to the security guard that I am unable to move the truck at this time. Later that night, he notified local authorities and they said I had to leave the parking lot because the security guard said I was being disrespectful?? He told the officer that I had stepped out of the truck and approached him. Not once did I step outside of the truck. Not once did I step outside the truck even when the officer was there. The security guard clearly lied. So be aware that this could happen to you as it happened to me and other drivers as well. There are several different truck stops that aren't as congested and unorganized. The security guards are on a power trip and given way too much authority and will call the cops on you just because they feel disrespected. I know management won't do anything about it, but this is my experience and actually this kind of practice and behavior shouldn't be tolerated. Choose somewhere other than this location. I will be posting on other sites as well about my experience at this location.
