Rude and dishonest staff. Pimply-faced woman with strawberry blonde hair does not admit mistakes and shifts blame onto others. Beware conscientious newcomers and service people.
The staff is very friendly. But no one has a sense of urgency. I had to wait 2 1/2 weeks for my results. I've had my machine for 6 weeks now but cannot get supplies. Home medical products have been trying to get my prescription sent to them for 2 1/2 weeks now to be able to send me my supplies. Cannot get the doctor to send it. They need to follow up with their calls and emails.
I had been waiting for a sleep study through the VA hospital but never received one. I was contacted by Clarksdale hospital for a consultation but never got a study. Focus Sleep contacted me through a VA referral and immediately sent me a packet to assess me. After my packet was reviewed, I was contacted and scheduled within a few days. After my sleep study was conducted, Focus Sleep and the VA reviewed my results and set me up to sleep with the C-pap machine. The technicians were very thorough. I would recommend to anyone who needs a sleep study conducted to consider Focus Sleep.
So, I kept getting billed for an amount I didn’t owe, so I wrote a bad review. I get called by FSC and was told if I removed the bad review they’d straighten everything out and I wouldn’t see another bill and they would give me a free sleep study since I had a hard time sleeping on my first one. They told me the sleep study was COMPLETELY off the books. So, I stopped seeing bills for about a month, so I removed the review. Fast forward, the other day, sure enough I get a bill from Focus Sleep Center. They also owed me a balance of $28 dollars that they overcharged. If I wouldn’t have caught it, they would’ve never paid it. It took them over 3 months from the time I had made them aware of the overcharge. I’m sure there are plenty of patients that have been overcharged that just paid it and will never see their money. Crooked or incompetent? You make the call… I just want to be done with these people. Seriously DO NOT go here. Save yourself a lot of stress and headache. This has really weighed on me.
Begin Edit I am editing to fill in the events that followed. I have never stepped foot in this clinic, I have never gotten any equipment from this place yet they not only billed my insurance but now have collection hounding me. I was considering a sleep test and like a lot of places you can get a head start on paperwork. My husband picked up and dropped off paper work. I then began to repeatedly call for an appointment. After a very lengthy amount of time I found another clinic, I went. Much later they finally call and say we can set an appointment and I told them I had already gone somewhere else. They fully billed my insurance for a visit and I’m in collection. This is the boldest, most blatant wrong insurance collection I have personally seen outside of a Dateline news special. Dustin called me after my original review and I thought it was going to be straightened out, he’s a fast talking, everything is going to be ok type person. He starts the conversation with “let’s talk about your sleep problem” Weird thing is I was sleeping when he called so brain wasn’t working well but I did say are you kidding me or something to that effect. I see from reviews I’m not alone. Again I have never stepped foot in this place, I have never seen anyone from this place, I’ve never spoke to anyone at this place except to complain over the phone about billing. I’m warning everyone as others have warned in reviews something is very sketchy about this place. I am now going to try to get the news involved and do any and everything I can to expose this place for what I think it is. THIS IS MY COMPLETE TRUTH!!End edit Original Review I personally believe it’s a front business and should be investigated. I wish I could give it negative 10 stars. I spent well over a month almost begging them to get me going. One thing they said was my insurance didn’t respond but I called my insurance and they said they didn’t call and all is covered. Next we spent weeks with her just blowing me off saying I’ll get back to you. Lastly I was told they ran out of equipment and she would call when it came in next week. This is now the week after that I’ve left messages and nothing but crickets. I personally don’t believe for one second that they’re legit or they would go broke. They simply don’t want patients and prefer you just go away quietly is exactly how it seems. Finally wised up and calling another center today!
I keep getting bills that I was assured that I wouldn’t get . But after a couple months here comes a bill !! But no one at the clinic can help with the bill , they want to transfer you to the billing dept . They will tell you there that the only thing the know is that the bill came from the clinic . I asked could I change masks because the one I had didn’t work well , they said they would take care of it .. I haven’t heard a word from these folks . But I will when it’s time for another office visit so that they get paid lol .. it just seems everyone there is confused .‍
I just got a collection call for $170 from 2 years ago. I didn't have anything done, at all. They skipped over me 2 or 3 times and took people ahead of me. I complained and then they ushered me back to a lady's office that kept telling me to sign an agreement to buy a CPAP. And that it wasn't a legal binding contract. I asked her then why did I need to sign it. I refused. This was before any testing took place... I left her sitting at her desk in her office. I had and still have the same insurance that covers 80%. So $170 is the 20% of the original bill??? My guess is my Insurance shot down their highly creative claim... read all of the reviews and decide for yourself if this is the type of place with which you would like to do business...
I've been a patient at Focus since 2018. They have always been professional, courteous, and helpful in resolving my issues with sleep apnea. While I can't speak to the other claims in the poor reviews, I can say that as far as my own experience, it couldn't have been better. And continues to be excellent to this day.
We are not happy with this company at all. We have been at it for at least a god three months now trying to get scheduled for equipment. My husband had one at home test which took us about a month to get the results of “inconclusive” after calling the office almost every day for 2 weeks of that month and not getting even a response from several voicemails and even going in a few times to be told he would hear back from someone soon. Someone finally called him back to schedule a new at home study just to inform us they were going to charge us again for the second test after their machine was to fault for the first inconclusive test. We were going to contact our insurance company for a claim on the company when they said they would wave the fee. We took home a second test and heard back with the results within a week or so which showed my husband has severe sleep apnea. One of the ladies in the office called to explain that he needed to come in for yet another test to test the equipment and strength. In order to set up an appointment my husband wanted to discuss with me a good date and he told the lady he would get right back to her. After the both of us calling all week and leaving voicemails we have yet to hear back from anyone. This company is very unprofessional with no customer care or service. They do not communicate well with their patients. We are very disappointed and we will not be using them for any services again and we don’t believe anyone else should. We will make sure our primary care doctor knows about all this so that he does not recommend this company to anyone else in the future.
While in the process of assessing the cause of Atrial Fibrillation I was put in contact with the Sleep Center. Before my assessment I was diagnosed with Mitral Valve prolapse. Megan was understanding and helpful with my postponement of services while I await surgery. I would like to thank her and her courteous staff during this trying time and look forward to working with them in the future.
