FOLCWALD Gallery of Sculptural Art proudly sells D.E.F. Diamonds and hosts thematic juried exhibitions of sculptural jewelry and art throughout the year.
FOLCWALD Gallery of Sculptural Art is located in one of the most beautiful places in New England, the Pioneer Valley. Situated in the town of Amherst, FOLCWALD is surrounded by one of the highest concentrations of artists and craftspeople in the United States. The Pioneer Valley is also home to esteemed colleges, renowned festivals, and world class museums that display everything from prehistoric art to modern craft (Jo Landers, Pioneer Valley Info.) The area’s academic community and historic interest in the creative arts makes Amherst and the surrounding community an important destination in the art world.
The name of the gallery originates from the 8th century Foucault Family when the name was first derived from the ancient Germanic ‘folc | wald’ and translates to “Ruler of the People.” We've given Folcwald's definition a 21st century reinterpretation, turning the original meaning on its head to indicate it is the people and their creativity that rule, and ultimately allows culture and society to thrive. As such, FOLCWALD Gallery of Sculptural Art’s core mission is to serve and support the vibrant and ever growing art presence of Western Massachusetts by showcasing new interpretations of timeless beauty to the people of the valley and visitors alike.
