Food & Water Watch works to ensure the food, water and fish we consume is safe, accessible and sustainable.
Our current statewide work to protect clean drinking water includes resisting natural gas infrastructure like the proposed Port Ambrose Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) import-export facility off the Jersey Shore, pipelines through the NJ Pinelands conservation land, and the ongoing campaign against fracking, drilling for natural gas through a method of natural gas extraction with toxic consequences for drinking water.
We also work to move forward legislation to label Genetically Engineered or GMO foods.
Within the state of New Jersey, Food & Water Watch recently aided in the successful Stop the Sale campaign, preventing the privatization of the water works for the city of Trenton.
