As a former worker there I would not apply to work or shop there. I worked produce for both Foodland, Food basics and no frills. The Foodland in Hagersville takes less steps to keep produce fresh ect then the competition that are bargain stores. Ie you can get fresher for less at no frills or foodbasics. Also the produce is not stored properly in the back. Normally you would trim, hydrate and put on a rack with a humidity shield to keep the water in. They had no such shields. Produce would be dry by the time it made it to the wet wall. They also don't rotate the floor goods. Ie old stuff goes on top of new so it's grabbed first. Food basics policy is to take everything out. Disinfection then restock. I was never even giving disinfection solutions the whole time I worked there. As for working there don't. New produce manager has a leader ship problem and when I was trying to explain we need a humidity shield got yelled at. All the dept managers are close friends so there is a circle your left out of the circle
Good selection. Prices are high compared to other grocery stores. They're all expensive now, and I don't mess with coupons.. in and out, and if you are trying to save money, this isn't the place to do so..
Overall store is clean, but your washroom is absolutely disgusting, please clean it daily, I can tell it's not ,as I am a cleaner, no handsoap either. Sink n toilet are filthy n the washroom smells bad. Touch points need a good washing as well.Daily many times throughout the day.
Yes, the Reno's do look good but these are tough times for people and the much higher prices, since the Reno's have been completed, are too much for most people. No one is getting a 50% raise in their income but prices in the store have, in some cases, have gone up MORE than 50% per item that I have seen. The other store in town is selling the same items for up to 40% less and that's a really big difference. Too many stores have simply pushed up their prices because of the fuel costs but they to have come down but the store prices have not. Just a huge cash grab for some businesses, and Foodland is one of the cash grabbers, IMHO
Nice store. We grabbed a delicious rotisserie chicken and store baked bread for dinner.
I have to go to Hagersville once every 2 weeks. It is always fun to get a fresh lunch from here after.
Nice store, price is crazy high on everything not sure how they manage to stay open
Variety of healthy n fresh goodies Fruit salad cheese bread Greek salad Swiss cheese n sushi Expensive but it's delicious n hard to find items
Prices are above the average here. Not my usual place to go, but they have Hewitts ice cream here and that one of the main reasons I go.
Nice clean store, friendly people and staff! Priced appropriately
