The Forney Fire Department is a combination department consisting of 35 volunteer firefighter and 24 paid firefighters including a Chief, a Fire Marshal, Captain, 3 Lieutenants, and 18 Firefighters. The department's fire protection area covers approximately 80 square miles and consists of the City of Forney, the City of Talty, and Kaufman County's Emergency Service District #6. The area that the Fire Department responds to consists of major highways, railroad traffic, dozens of State Highways and a rapidly growing retail, education, and residential base
The mission of the Forney Fire Department is to provide emergency and non-emergency assistance and education to our community and its visitors, through dedicated, well trained, caring personnel while being responsible stewards of our resources and funding.
"The Forney Fire Department currently provides both emergency and non-emergency services out of two fire stations with 33 full-time professional fire fighters. These fire fighters are spread out across three shifts, A-B-C, and work 24 hours on with 48 hours off. Fire Administration consists of the Fire Chief, Assistant Fire Chief, Fire Marshal, Fire Inspector/Investigator, and a civilian Administrative Assistant."
