Fort Bend Art Center – Mission and Description of the Organization
The ALFB Art League of Fort Bend is a 501(c)3 organization established in 1957 as a community place where artist of all ages and stages can come to create, study, and exhibit their talents. The ALFB is developing the Fort Bend Art Center, which will be launched during 2017-2018 with a 12 month lease at 2205 Avenue I Rosenberg, TX 77471.
The ALFB Board and membership envisions the creation of a dynamic arts center “emporium” style concept of art studios, artisan vendors, and creative businesses working in family friendly environment. The vision is to provide opportunities for art patrons to view art on display at the Gallery and other sponsored Events, watch artist at work and/or participate in arts-related instruction through workshops and classes. The FBAC offers a Workshop Room that can be used as a meeting venue that can be rented separately on a one day or muli-day basis for art-related instruction or certain community gatherings that bring patrons into the building. Their intent is to sub-lease spaces to artist and creative business that create a cohesive working environment for the Arts. As part of the creative offerings, one of the two kitchen areas is intended to be developed into a co-branded “artsy” coffee shop or café or drink establishment to attract additional foot traffic and add to the creative energy of the FBAC.
