Honestly a fascinating place to visit. Great view of the water, plenty of picnic tables, pavilions, grills, two small playgrounds for kids, etc. But what really shines are the old buildings from the fort. The different buildings were a joy to explore and quite creepy with their dark and ominous nooks and crannies. The stairs are STEEP and small to get around most of the ruins but there's only a few dotted around with hand rails so it's not too bad. Parents beware, the excessive graffiti contains curse words and adult imagery and is all over most of the buildings. Overall the buildings, forest, and picnic area have three very different vibes that work in a weird sort of harmony as the cool wind from the bay washes over it all.
I really love this place. Both it and North Point State park which is right down the street are both criminally overlooked in the local area. The historical structures are cool, but the park and waterfront itself are the real reason. There’s beautiful views of the Bay a short paved walk from the parking lot. And if you want to go exploring , there are several tiny trails to waterfront areas, a short walk away. If you wind up not getting into North Point because it’s full, you should definitely drive here.
Very nice park. Loop style hiking route to see the old fort ruins, 2 small playgrounds, pavilions, grills, water access. Fishing ,biking, family park. And in October its turned into "the dungeons" a haunted house attraction at least it was 4 years ago lol *No swimming or camping.
2 best friend having the best time. Great for friends of all ages!!! Beautiful park with amazing artifacts and scenery. 10/10 would definitely recommend. Grab some amazing food from cruisers and have a picnic!
Just went for a walk and see the old structures. Park has lots and lots of picnic tables and more than one play area for young kids. There's no beach but great views of the bay and a pier for fishing.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entryFree
This is a very nice park to visit, and I would recommend going here if you are at all interested in history or are in the area. There is some graffiti here and there, especially on battery Stricker, but it's clear that a lot of love goes into this park as well, as seen by the well maintained historical signs and playgrounds. Most, if not all, of the paths are paved and are kept in relatively good condition as well. Something Important to know is that the park is closed from September 28th to November 8th for a Halloween event. Also, for some reason, when I went here in early december, the bathrooms near battery Key were padlocked and gated. Maybe because they were only just beginning to reopen the park after the off season? There are thankfully some portapotties near battery Harris in case the main bathroom is closed for some reason. Overall though, it was a very enjoyable experience that I would highly recommend!
It’s a park. There are tall trees, some tables and grills. Overall it’s a nice park for Baltimore.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entryFree
I love this park!! It has everything you need. It is never crowded and always clean. Pavilions, playgrounds, paved trails, water and history. One of my favorites.
Great park, shaded trails to walk or bike on, playground equipment for kids of all ages, cookout spots. Great views of the bay while fishing from multiple locations along the shore. One down side, lots of biting flies. Bring bug spray.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entryFree
Always love coming here. This is one of the few historical sites around where I live, and it just allows me to imagine what it was like during the first world war and the battle of Baltimore. To stand where soldiers stood over 100 years ago is just so awesome.
